Question about 2000 Nissan Frontier

1 Answer

I just had had my intake manifold gasket replaced, now my check engine soon light is on blinking then steady. Motor bogs down at 3k rpms. Any ideas? Codes indicate knock sensor and misfire.

Blinking stop turn off. restart if starts blinking again you should not drive it. on steady take to one of those places that checks for free auto parts store .write down the code if its related to the work you had done take it back, also were you had it worked on might of forgot to reconnegted something or nocked something loose

My 2004 chevy impala with a 3.8 engine acts like it dont want to go the rpms are kinda high my check engune light is on and blinking and i smell gas but my car is reading an o2 sensor code

Almost sounds like something is clogged up possibly catalytic converter.. Take to a well known shop for further testing, I would not drive it with blinking engine light just my thought.
Good luck.

My Lincoln Continental is running high rpm's in Park Drive and idle I replaced the throttle body position sensor to no avail

High RPMs are indicative of a vacuum leak, an improperly set minimum stop screw, a defective idle air controller, a bad intake manifold gasket, or a cracked intake manifold.
Less likely, especially if there is no CHECK ENGINE light illuminated, the ECU may be defective.

Vehicle is shuttering at low RPMs and steady speeds. I have checked everything I can think of, and everything that has been suggested to me at this point, but nothing has taken care of the problem yet.

I had the same problem, found there was air passing through the Lower Gasket of Intake manifold. Gasket was cheap, Removal of intake manifold as one piece takes time and is a good thing to have mechanic around for.

2002 s10 zr2 runs rough bogs down when you

First check for any cracked pipes leading into the intake manifold If all OK (with no codes showing it probably is OK) try checking the fuel pressure regulator. If you smell fuel from the pressure regulator vacuum side arm (when the vacuum line has been disconnected) it needs to be replaced.

N16 pulsar 1600 engine normal vac reading on start, falls rapidly to 5-10" of mercury

possible intake manifold leak, check bolt torque, warps and leaks as engine warms up,spray starting fluid around the edges while idleing,if engine rpms shoot up replace intake gasket, also vaccum booster on brakes, diaphram may be ruptured, listen down by foot pedal, when you press down you will hear it hissing, and of course all vaccum lines and connections, hope this helps, good kuck ,aloha from maui todd0708

#2 cylinder misfire and check engine blinks. when light blinks the engine seems to bog down.

First see what #2 spark plug looks like, probably time for a tune up. A compression test will verify engine is in good mechanical condition. Also check the 3 peice intake manifold for leaks - this is common, but ususally the miss smoothes out off idle if this is the case.

Engine lacks power

the probes use the mazda motor.... the engine light is caused by a lean fuel mixture...this happens on almost every american motor..its the ecu tuning. this is a way for the a-spec motor to have less horsepower, but they detuned too far. if you replace the ecu with the j-spec one you will not have the light, and gain somewhere around 15 hp im not sure how much or how dramatic the losing power thing is but i do know that the 2.5l motors love LOVE the rpms... so 3,000 rpm is really where the motor starts to run good, other than that im not sure
