My 05 Focus speedometer is wacky. All other gauges and systems work fine. The speedometer needle doesn't go to zero when vehicle stops moving.

Sounds like the speedometer is faulty. If the speed sensor were the problem, the odometer would not work correctly, the transmission would not shift correctly, and the check engine light would be on.

1995 honda accord speedometer and odometer not working

Sounds like either your speedometer cable, your nylon gear on the side of the tranny where the cable ties in, or the odometer itself is shot. One of those three will set you straight. If you are able, remove the cluster, take the cable off the back, and pull it out of the sheath. You will see if its broken or not from there. If not, slide it back into the sheath, then you have to find out where the sheath meets the tranny, and pull it off of there. Then, you can get someone else to watch the speedo as you turn the cable from the bottom. If it works, great, if not, then its your cluster/odometer/speedo. If it does work, the small gear in the transmission is shot.

Speedometer goes to 3000 mph and bumps

Hi...
On Honda's the commom problem is the Vehicle Speeed sensor.
If the computer don't get the Speed of the vehicle will not comamd the the transmission for respective shift pattern.

I recomend Replace the Vehicle Speed sensor.
And you will solve your problem.
I had a 93 Civic 2 years ago. with the same problem. and I'm a MECHANIC.

If you need more information I will glad to assist you..

Thank you for use fixya...
