The camshaft sensor wouldn't explain the clattering noise. But a timing chain would explain both. Clattering from a loose chain and the camshaft sensor code from when the chain broke and the camshafts stopped turning.

Hello, I have a 2001 chevy tracker with a 2.0 engine. It has a ticking noise after it warms up. during up shift at RPM's about 3000 it rattles like lifters, but go away after the shift. Some times

when oil is cold it is thicker and stays [on]coats metal as oil warms up it thins out and flows better[makes it thinner will hear ticking] sounds like a bad lifter or even camshaft lobe problem ,could also have a problem with a loose or out of adjustment rocker arm

2000 Chevy Tracker will die after being driven for a short while, it usually takes anywhere from 30 minutes to a few days for it crank back up. It usually doesn't run but 5 to 10 minutes. When it does...

LITTLE WHITE SMOKE NORMAL WHEN VECHICLE FIRST STARTED IN THE MORNING,WHITE SMOKE WILL DISAPPEAR WHEN ENGINE GET OPERATING TEMPERATURE.CHECK FOR FUEL PRESSURE COULD HAVE STOPPED UP FUEL FILTER, BAD FUEL PUMP RELAY OR FUEL PUMP FAULTY BAD CONTAMINATED FUEL WILL CAUSE ENGINE TO STALL OUT.

Our 2003 Chevy Tracker stalls after 20 minutes whether it is in Idle or not. I have cleaned the Idle Control Valve and replaced the fuel pump. No code is coming up and no lights on the dash come up prior...

Not sure why you are thinking camshaft position... I am thinking maybe a relay is giving up. Did you check for fuel pressure and spark after the stall?

MY 2001 TRACKER HAS A VERY LOUD CLATTER IN THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE I THINK ITS INTERNAL I'VE CHECKED THE IDLER PULLEYS AN CHANGED THE FAN BELT

Be sure to check the water pump. With the car running you can take a very long socket extension and place one end on different parts of the valve cover, block, alternator, a/c compressor, etc. and the other end hold to your ear. You may be able to pinpoint where the noise is coming from. This truly is a great way to narrow own a noise like this but....BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO INTERFERE WITH ANY MOVING PARS OR HOT ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS. THINK SAFELY AND IF YOU DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE, TAKE IT TO A PROFESSIONAL. SAFETY FIRST.

Humming noise

the noise is most likely your roof rack if you have one. my tracker does the same thing (2000) and i think its the roof rack. im used to it now anddont mind the extra outside noise as it works well along with my Deer Alert wistles to help avoid deer hits.
