04 navigator is blowing ac fuse 11, ac coil shorted, 3 different coils, can ac compress short the coils

How did you hook up the inline fuse to compressor and ground to compress ? Ground what ? Right at the clutch coil ? You have to be hooking it up wrong . The compressor can't cause the clutch coil to short or blow the fuse , even if the compressor were seized up . An before that would have the serpentine belt would burn up , squealing noise. applying B+ voltage in the relay socket ,pin 30 to pin 87 will engage the compressor clutch . If the fuse blows the wiring from the relay to the compressor clutch is shorted to ground . Look for rubbed through wiring harness .

Trouble ac not working

did you check all fuses in dash box and engine by box>?

the first check , is the A/C compression clutch enraged?
that 1st check ,begins the long diagnosis.
if engaged and compr. is spinnng fast (belt not missing)
this mean serious loop failure (Freon)
if not engaged, (bad clutch) that means the BRAIN is blocking it for
good reasons. if true, we can find out easy what it is with a voltmeter.
Its a set of 6 possible logic fails that shut it down.
post back if clutch is disengaged. full time.

In stall ac compresser dryer and orfic tub clutch will not lock in and stay with one can or 12 oz

You needs more refrigerant than that to raise the pressure enough to open the low pressure switch, allowing the compressor clutch to engage.

Yes, it could be the ac clutch or the compressor itself.

Compressor isnt turning at all dont know if i need new one or if i need new clutch how can i tell

The pulley on the compressor is always running when your engine is running, but the only time
it compresses the freon is when the clutch engages, if the compressor's pulley was not turning,
it would have already snapped a fan belt or your serpentine belt. voltage runs from your fuse box
thru your air condition switch on your dashboard to a low pressure switch that is located at the
accumulator a long cylinder, close to the firewall under the hood or close to the condensor, front
of the car. the switch detects freon pressure in the accumulator, if there is freon pressure, the switch
will stay closed and allow voltage to go to the compressor clutch to engage it and compress the freon,
if there is no freon pressure the switch will open, and there will be no voltage to air compressor, its a
saftey switch to keep your compressor from getting damaged.its possible that the switch could be bad
it may not have voltage at the switch, or it may be open because there is insufficient freon pressure.
check and make sure there is freon in the system.check for voltage at the low pressure switch if you have freon in your system and voltage at the pressure switch, set your ac on high, pull the molex off
the switch, and jump it out with a jumper wire, if the clutch engages and your car starts to cool, just
replace the switch. if the clutch engages but does not cool, then your ac system has some blockage
in the lines. if the clutch does not engage at all then it would be the compressor clutch. good luck!

Locate wires coming from compressor clutch and trace to nearest plug that you can unplug. Turn on A/C to max cooling. If clutch not engaged (center of compressor drive pulley not spinning with pulley), unplug compressor clutch wires and use multimeter to check voltage going to compressor clutch. If voltage is around 12 volts or more, then clutch should be engaged when plugged in. Plug clutch wires back in (with motor still running and ac set to max). If clutch still not engaged, then clutch definitely bad because 12V signal should engage it.

Chek compresser fuse. Feel the front of the compressor while car is off and see if the compressor clutch moves by hand. If it does not move by hand, You will need a new compressor, if it does move freely by hand it is a compresser fuse blown

I have a 1999 chevrolet express van, the ac dose not work. i turn the ac on and the clutch dose not engage on the compresser.what could be the problem? i have checked the fuse and the relay. they seem to...

Bruce did you check the freon. if the pressure is not enough the ac clutch will not engage. If it is the freon you may want to use a leak detector from your local autoparts store before wasting freon.
