It has a belt, and it is supposed to be done at 60,000 miles. It is a job but it can be done by a patient owner. You can't rush it, you will need the book, a Haynes manual or something like that. the shop will charge about 3 to $400 for it. I think the water pump gets done and the belt tensioner, not sure. Check it out, Hope this helps.

Timing belt back on 2001 impreza subaru

Look on www.chiltondiy.com or just google chilton repair manuals and I'm sure you can find the diagram. You may have to pay to see it, but it'll be there. If you have the 2.5L motor, I hope you didn't try to start the car after the belt broke. This can bend the valve guides and pretty much ruin the motor. 2.2L, no worries.

What is included in a timing belt kit?

The Subaru timing belt kit consists of a water pump with gasket, timing belt tensioner assembly, right timing belt idler, left lower timing belt idler, cogged timing belt idler, two accessory drive belts, front crankshaft seal, two front camshaft seal kits, thermostat gasket. That about covers it up. Hope this helped!

I have 103,500 miles on my 2002 nissan sentra when should I change the timing chain

The timing chain doesn't really have a maintenance period. They don't have a habit of breaking or stretching. Timing belts on some vehicles do have a recomended replacement period. Locate your local NTB, Firestone, or Sears for the maintenance schedule.

What is the schedule replacement mileage for a 2003 Ford Escape Timing Chain

If your car has a chain there is not a scheduled replacement. A timing chain should last as long as the engine. No need to replace the chain. Now things can happen such as a guide wearing out or a drive / driven gear wears out, then a chain should be replaced. You do not need to replace a chain under normal usage. *** Now the 2000 - 2004 Escape with a 2.0L (4 cylinder) does have a BELT and yes, belts should be changed (Ford recommends) every 60,000 miles or 7 years which ever comes first.

Timing belt

Changing the timing belt at 67,000 klm's dosen't sound bad. A lot of maintenance on cars says that it should be changed around that time, depending on what kind of car it is. My guess it was changed as routine maintenance not because of abuse and/or damage. If you really wanted to be careful you could ask the owner if you could take it to a shop for a general inspection. He should have no problem with this and if he does that should set off some alarms in your head. Now then about being a "girly car", I don't think any car is necessarily girly, unless it's got butterfly decals on it or something, which can be easily removed. Also who's buying the car him or you, if he wants to get picky tell him to by a car himself

you guessed it right at 60,000 miles there is a major service due. The service consists of flushing all fluids, tire rotation, and a complete tune up with a top end clean, and a fuel injection clean. Apptox $350 to $400.

No, it has a timing chain that will not require maintenance. Maybe he meant the external drive belts. They should be changed on schedule.
