How do you remove the spark plugs in a 2008 automatic chrysler pt cruiser? Do you have to remove the manifold and replace the gasket to change the spark plugs?

I think you can reuse the gasket (rubber) just take out the bolts and position it out of the way enough to get plugs in and out. Be sure to replace the timing belt, tensioner and water pump at 90k miles....or youll be sorry.

Broken wires to fuel pump and little rodent of some kind chewed thru it. the power steering pump shaft was broken so it got fixed cost about $450 parts and labor!

How do you access the spark plug on a 2001 pt cruiser ??????????

You have 5 bolts that you have to take loose on the front side of the intake manifold, and there is a couple on the backside...( Large Black Area That Says DOHC 16 V ). Once you take that off, the spark plugs are right beneath it..Goodluck..

Engine light on

They are still looking for a cause because it isnt misfiring right now or because they cant find the cause of the stored misfire codes ?
If it is misfiring right now and they cant figure it out then perhaps you should find new mechanics !
I have seen a lot of bad coils on the PT.
Misfire is usually caused by spark plug wires first, spark plugs 2nd, and coil third.
If it isnt misfiring now, spray down the wires with water. If it misfires after that replace the spark plug wires and spark plugs and try again.
If it still misfires then the problem will likely be the coil.

Oil coming from the area where rubber hose goes

pcv cracked? The spark plugs are installed into the top of the head.
Replace cracked or dry rotted hose or the gromit for the crank case pressure valve, this should return through a line to the intake. Good luck

Spit and sputter/2004 PT Cruiser

Check for fire to the coil pack. These have a tendency to go bad on these cars. Could be a cam or crank sensor, these also go bad. If you haven't changed the plugs in 30K, this is due also, wires every 60K. May need to actually get it hooked to a machine to find out for sure.
