Hi yes once you have removed the lock ring from the tank on top of the there are tabs alongside the outside of the fuel pump that lock the pump in place with the fuel tank basket. The fuel pump needs to be rotated counter-clockwise (to the left) to unlock it from the fuel tank basket using a flat screw driver...hope that helps

i gather your talking about the black wire and the yellow wire?...no they stay connected to the cap you pulled off, the wires go to the pump itself, and the hose that is connected stays on to, it is the main supply hose....

read the first bit of my explanation..you have to turn it counter clockwise to left, tap it round with the flat screw driver, your supposed to have a special tool to do it as it is clipped in, but tapping it round with screw driver will do the same trick....

If u are disconnecting/replacing the fuel pump module that is inside the fuel tank then u must remove all lines and electrical connectors and the module must be removed from the tank completely.

I am trying to replace the fuel filter on my 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 Van. I can't seem to find it. Can you tell me where it is located?

Fuel Filter for 5.2 L Removal & Installation To Remove:
dod_trk_fuelpressurereg.gif

NOTE: The combination fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator is located on the top of the fuel pump module.
  1. Before servicing the vehicle refer to the precautions at the beginning of this section.
  2. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • The fuel tank
    • Any debris around the filter/regulator to prevent contaminants from entering the pump module
    • The fuel filter/regulator from its rubber grommet by twisting and pulling straight up CAUTION
To prevent damage to the coiled fuel line, ensure the filter/regulator is not more than three inches from the fuel pump module.

    • The old fuel line clamp, by carefully cutting it ensuring not to damage the plastic fuel line (discard the clamp)
    • The plastic fuel line from the filter/regulator by gently pulling downward
    • The filter/regulator from the fuel pump module
To Install:
  1. Install or connect the following:
    • A new clamp over the plastic fuel line
    • The filter/regulator to the fuel line NOTE: Rotate the filter/regulator in the fuel line until it is points toward the front of the tank.
    • The line clamp to the fuel line using special Hose Clamp Pliers number C-4124 NOTE: Do not use conventional side cutters to tighten this type of clamp.
    • The filter/regulator into the rubber grommet, pressing by hand
  2. Rotate the filter/regulator until it points towards the front of the vehicle.
  3. Install the fuel tank.
  4. Check for fuel leaks.

I need to change a petrol pump on A4 1996 model can someone guide me on how to do this

You will need to disconnect negative battery cable. Then jack up rear of car. Disconnect wires to tank, disconnect filler tube, disconnect return hoses, then disconnect support straps to tank.
Then support tank with a jack and mabey a helper. Remove mounting bolts holding tank up. Lower gas tank and pull it out. Then with a BRASS and only a BRASS punch and a hammer, knock the ring on top of tank counter-clockwise to until it is loose and you can remove it. Then carefully pull out the sending unit and pump and disconnect the two of them.
Reverse procedure to re-install

Taking out 2001 Audi A4 Fuel Pump

it is just a matter of unscrewing the cover in the trunk, removing the wires, then unscrewing the pump cover.make sure the fuel tank is not empty as an empty tank is highly explosive.

Instructions for replacing fuel pump in a 2001 ford Escort ZX2

Remove the rear seat, remove the 4 screws holding the metal cover, and you'll see the top of the fuel tank. The pump module is held in place by a locking ring that can be removed by use of a brass punch and hammer. If the ring is rusted, it'll get damaged during removal and will need replaced. You can get a new ring from Ford. Once the ring is removed, you can pull the pump module out. Remove the small screws from the top of the module and you can pull the top off of the basket to gain access to the fuel pump. Replace the pump and get new fuel pump strainers.

How to replace a dipstick funnel on a 2003 Audi A4

There's a metal bracket that the plastic tube clips to at the top. The 2 little tabs on each side clip it to the bracket. once u unclip it, it "should" pull straight up. The one I did yesterday broke into a bunch of pieces. I had to break it off and pry the last bit off with a prybar. the new one snaps right down on.
