I don't see what the compressor, from a mechanical perspective, has to do with the electrical issues, with the solid state thing.

Either the compressor failed mechanically or it didn't!

The electrical module involved failed,I assume. So find out why and replace it.

I would get a second opinion, far away from a dealer.

Broken trip gauge on 1999 chevy blazer

There may be a blown fuse causing the trip meter failure and quite possibly the gauge reading failure. since you didnt say if they went out at the same same it is hard to say but checking the fuses is a likely culprit for the first problem. it is entirely possibly that you fuel guage just stopped sending the signal up to your guage. this is known to happen usually only remedied by replacing the fuel pump as it is part of the wiring on the pump itself. that is unless that fuse is the reason it is bad. the other thing is the possibility of a broken/shorted wire that provides the signal from the pump to the guage good luck

Turn you ignition switch to the on position ,does the CK ENG Lite appear, if yes this is a good indication. Your DLC (diagnostic link connector) should have battery voltage at pin 16 and ground at 4 and 5,If you can verify that your vehicle has this working order then its there problem and not yours

2003 chevy s10 - keeps blowing out AC fuse. Will work for a couple minutes then compressor quits working. Check the fuse, it is blown out. Put in a new fuse, works a couple minutes, then quits, fuse blown...

Unplug the a/c compressor, there will be a plug near the pulley. Install a new fuse. Start the vehicle and turn the a/c on. Wait about the same amount of time it took for the fuse to blow in the past. Did the cues blow? If no replace the a/c compressor, the clutch has gone bad. If yes, than the wiring between the fuse and the relay or the relay to the comps sore is grounded. A careful inspection of the wiring should reveal the problem.

04 escalade rear air compressior does not come on

ive worked on alot of theses, most times they are noisey or dont work as in your case, the #1 reason is due to a bad compressor, this is located under rear bumper area, easy to replace, just remove a few rubber covers and three bolts and an air line, anyway first check the fuse, there are three fuse boxs in this truck, you will be looking at the engine compartment fuse box, i have enclosed a picture to help and also i circled the location ,. if the fuse is good then check the relay, the relay is located outside this fusebox on the side, i also enclosed a picture of that, most of the time the fuse may be blown due to a bad compressor and sometimes not, anyway if the relay checks good and fuse good then replace the compressor, or if you replace the fuse and it pops then replace the compressor. the compressor i found to be COSTLY, i found a website that i deal with alot for this type of stuff, like compressors and air bag shocks, check them out and compare the price with dealer, there compressors are top of the line, never had a problem and have been dealing with this company for 8yrs, heres the web site,www.arnottindustries.com.hope this help ,good dayjohnjohn2_101.gifjohnjohn2_102.gifjohnjohn2_103.gif

1990 Plymouth laser. Where is starter relay located? I've already looked under radio panel where books say but not there.

Fuses There are a number of fuse blocks on these vehicles. The multi-purpose fuse block is located inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle, under the instrument panel, towards the left of the steering column. The dedicated fuses are located in the engine compartment at the left rear corner (if equipped with A/C) and also in front of the right strut tower. Blade type fuses are used. A blade type fuse has test taps provided to allow checking of the fuse itself, without removing it from the fuse block. A test light can be used. The fuse is okay if the test light comes ON when its one test lead is connected to the test taps (one at a time) and the other lead is grounded. Change the position of the ignition switch so the fuse circuit being tested has voltage applied to it. Fig. 1: A test light can be used to test the fuse 89576g47.gif
When a fuse is blown, there are two probable causes as follows: One is that the fuse was blown due to a flow of current exceeding its rating. The other is that it is blown due to a repeated ON/OFF current flowing through it. Which of the two causes is responsible can be easily determined by a visual check as described below:
  1. Fuse blown due to current exceeding rating: As seen in the illustration, a fuse that is blown due to an exceeding current has a section missing. If the blown fuse looks like this, do not replace the fuse with a new one hastily since a current heavy enough to blow the fuse had flowed through it. First, check the circuit for shorting and check for abnormal electrical parts. Only after the correction of such a shorting condition, the fuse is to be replaced with one of the same capacity. Never use a fuse of a larger capacity than the one blown. If such a fuse is used, electrical components or wiring can be damaged before the fuse blows in the event that an overcurrent occurs again. Fig. 2: View of a fuse blown due to overcurrent 89576g48.gif
Fig. 3: State of a fuse blown due to thermal fatigue 89576g49.gif

  2. Fuse blown due to repeated current ON/OFF flow: The figure shows a fuse blown due to repeated current ON/OFF. Normally, this type of problem occurs after fairly long period of use and hence is less frequent than the above type. In this case, you may simply replace the fuse with a new fuse of the same capacity. Fig. 4: The lid on the fuse block in the engine compartment has the identification information 89576p40.jpg
Fig. 5: Remove the fuse panel lid by unfastening the clips and pulling it up and off the panel 89576p02.jpg

2000 chevy cavalier fuse for odometer?

unfortunately it is not the fuse it is the odometer broken internal to the cluster you will need an entirely new instrument panel assemble to remedy the problem, if you purchase one from the wrecking yard and have installed you will be forced to stick with whatever mileage comes on it, if you have a new one installed from the dealer they can program it to match the stored mileage in your origional cluster

2001 lincoln navigator rear suspension?

Here is how to tell if system is working.Get into the vehicle and close door. Set ignition switch to on position and move the gear shifter to neutral. After a few secs. you should hear the compressor turn on. If it comes on then put shifter back to park leave ignition on and exit vehicle. Compressor will stop when you open the door but should start back up in a couple of secs. after you close the door. You can then walk around the vehicle and listen for leaks.
If compressor does not come on there are 3 fuses and a solid state relay that controls it along with the module.
The 3 fuses are no. 109(50amp) in the battery junction box under hood. This is the direct feed to compressor thru the solid state relay. The other 2 fuses are located in the interior fuse panel and they are no. 6 (5amp) and no. 12(15amp).
What we usually see though if compressor does not run is either a bad compressor or the solid state relay. They both are rather expensive so I would have an experience tech look at it then.
However If you feel confident enough and have a voltmeter or test light respond back and I will tell you which wires to check.
