Question about 2006 Mazda 6

Mazda 6 not going into foward or reverse

I have a problem with my Mazda 6 2006 and wonder if you guys would be able to help me out. My wife was driving it out of her Mother?s driveway. As she was driving out she hit a bump pretty hard and it hit the bottom of the front end. She went further and had to stop for traffic. When she tried to drive out into the road, the car wouldn?t go forward. She put it in reverse and went backward so she figured she would try forward again and nothing. Then she put it back into reverse to get it out of the way and it would go in reverse either at that point. It?s not the cv joint and I have no idea what else it could possibly be. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. There is transmission fluid and nothing seems to be leaking. The rpm's go up when you step on the gas but the car wont go foward or in reverse.

Hi! There could be a loosen vaccum hose somewhere so you will need to trace it out. If theres a vaccum leak most likely the shifting fails. If everything seems to be in place try to have the transmission solenoids checked for it may have been hit during the bump. Hope this helps and have a good one!

2006 mazda 6 just fitted a new battery now one touch power windows dont work

I had the same thing happen when I replaced my battery on my 2006 mazda 6. The program has to be re-programed and it is very simple. Simply push the window button down until window rolls all the way down, then pull up and roll window back up, but dont let go fo the window button for 3-5 seconds after window rolls back up all the way. This resets the program. Do it to both driver and passender side windows and do it with the key in the on position, but not with the motor started. Hope this helps ya

Mazda wont go foward or reverse.

If you are lucky, you are just out of transmission fluid. Add fluid to refill the transmission to the mark on the dip stick. Afterward, you need to determine where the old transmission fluid leaked out and fix the leak. If refilling the transmission does not fix the problem, you then need to look at fixing the transmission. Are you sure the shift linkage is ok?

Reverse and no foward gears

It will probably have to be towed in and checked out. This can be a total failure of forward gears and necassary for knowledgable person to diagnose,< if you decide to two use a dolly that you can rent about anywhere not strap because it can cause even more damage to transmission pulling this way>. It could be simple, but needs diagnosed by someone who can tell you properly.
