This is cause by or tow causes, one check out you key for damage or been bent in any way. most of the time you can stighten it out. second the plungers are worn in need of lubrication. if you can get a can of w-d 40 with the straw and spray in deep/ if the problems contnue its most likely gonna need a new ignition swtich do to common wear.. you might want to have a cloth ready causeit will spit out. then try it. send me a feedback and let me know.

Why doesn't key turn in ignition switch?

Sharply turn steering wheel back and forth while trying ignition, this may loosen the lock detente pin enough to work.
If key is stuck, under the steering wheel there is a button or what looks like a button , stick a key in the little indention and the button falls out ( no force required) and then stick a long firm wire straight up and you will hear a faint click and the key should come out. I used a long match stick like the ones you would light a fireplace with. Della press the helpful button

Pt wont start or turn over

try to get a jump from a friend and see what happens, does the same, faulty starter, may need replacing, try to use small hammer and tap lightly on the starter couple time and have a friend start the car while you tap lightly on it. check ignition switch where you stick the key in. stick the key in the ignition and turn the key back and forth jiggle and wiggle it and see if your igniting will make contact. do it several time to test and see if its the ignition problems, this part is not cheap to replace.

Keys stick in the ignition

There are a few problems why this can happen. Most commonly there is a wire down by the bottom of the shifter that is broken. In the meantime, you can stick a small screwdriver through the hole under the steering column (you'll have to pull off the cover). This will push in the solenoid and allow you to remove the key. Your mechanic can diagnose the root problem.

Key sticks in ignition

I would say your ignition cylinder is worn out. get it replaced now, while the key still works. If you wait until it stops working all together, they will charge double because it will have to be cut off of the steering column instead of easily sliding it out. I wouldnt think the lights and door locks are related, just a bad coincedence.

How do you un stick a stuck ignition switch on a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

you can temporarliy "un-stick" the ignition by inserting the key as you would you start the vehicle. then tap the end of the key a few times with the palm of your hand almost as you are trying to drive it in further. this generaly works. but keep in mind that the only fix is to replace the ignition lock cylinder. and make sure that the key is not twisted or bent because that could also inhibit the key from turning properly

Dodge caravan ignition sticks sometimes key won't turn at all.

sounds like you need a new ignition cylinder. normally when this happens you can tap on the bottom of the column where the cylinder goes into it with a hammer while jiggling the key should un stick it temporarily
