P0161....O2 Sensor Heater Circuit (Bank 2 Sensor 2)
Now i tell you the code but i have no idea as to what side of the engine is bank 2 ,but sensor 2 is the one after the cat so change the right side first then if the fault still shows then take it out put the old one back in and change the one on the left side ,now a three cable sensor is about 40 euros here but a 4 wire one is 70+ euros and i just dont know why the difference in the price

we also pay five dollars a gallon for petrol ,here in spain which is still cheaper than the uk or france ,i would love a sunday car like this american muscle machine ,i couldnt afford to drive more than once a month though ,i have 4 litre sovereign jag but i only use it for the odd sunday or a wedding car ,most of the time i drive a diesel escort manual it must do 50 mpg which is not bad ,or my motor bike for alicante and picking up small parts for teh cars i repair ,anyway best of british with this vehicle and look after it as the days of big engined cars is on teh way out especially after the spate of oil leaks around the world

Not shifting

Any transmission trouble code will put the trans in second gear
and it won\'t shift.
Key on-off-on-off-on without starting the engine will illuminate
the check engine light .It will flash out the codes.Should see a 55
code ,5 flashes,a pause then 5 more. Any codes other than 12 and
55 need recorded for further diagnnosis.
I was thinking that turning the key on and opening the throttle wide
open 4 times within 5 seconds (engine off)clears tranny codes, not sure about that tho. You might try it then drive it and see if it shifts, although
as soon as the malfunction happens again it will go back into limp mode.
Tranny slipping or a slow shift or converter lock up malfunction along
with many other things will trigger this.

1994 Lexus LS400 - 140,000 miles Check Engine light is consistently on, Car's feels like transmission is slipping, but the issue isn't trans related, burning small amt of oil. Ideas??

Hi,

The check engine light comes on mostly when you have bad gas tank cup,or you don't tight enough the gasoline.Go to any auto-zone and request the obd scanner,at no charge just leave your driver license or credit card, connect the scanner follow the instructions. They will check up and the check engine light will come off in the next 3 to 5 days.

Thank you !!

We have a 1999 Pontiac Montana with an unknown trouble code.

P1483=engine cooling system performance
Are you adding coolant each time this light comes on in the coolant reservoir?
if so,you need to find where it is leaking out,

Most likely is a shift silenoid. You can go to autozone and have them read the codes for you. Then you will know for sure.

I have error codes p0156 p0161

Check the wire harness near the top of the engine in the rear. They were good for rubbing through on the trans fill tube bracket. Judging by the code you have 4 sensors. you would be interested in the drivers side rear sensor.
