If new battery drops to 10.3 Volts on the dash monitor battery voltage, then the alternator is probably not charging it enough to maintain 13.2 to 14.2 volts when the car is running.

If it's the alternator, eventually all systems will shut down as it runs.

10.3 V is really low for a new battery.

The voltage of 10.3 is more than 2 volts below where it should be. This indicates to me that the alternator is definitely not charging the new battery.

A diode could be bad in the alternator, causing it to be better than no alternator at all, but definitely replace it to fix this problem.

Have a 2009 Saab 9.7x4,2i starter good alternater good but battery dies over night

Usual culprit is boot (Trunk) light. If not, try disconnecting battery and if a spark jumps as you take the lead off it shows there is a power drain. If no power drain it points to a faulty battery.

Power drain new battery, alternater (10 months ago)Replaced starter a week ago. New 40 and30 amp fuses, also relays and block breakers under hood. cables clean and good Wiring checked, no short found....

if the battery is being drained there is something causing it to happen, check that all the lights are off glove box, trunk, you may have to get someone to get in the trunk & close it to see if the light goes out, when it is dark lift the hood & move the wiring everywhere you can to see if there are any sparks that might indicate a bare wire touching something.....hope this helps......cheers.

My battery light came on and my battery dies like i aint getting a charge and when i charge the battery it starts everytime alternater is good what could it be

How do you know alternator is good?
Put in a cheap volt gauge.
Should read 12.5 normal.
Down to 10 starting.
Back to 12.5 at idle.
Up to 13.5 when engine revved up.

But battery low on water will not hold charge.
Could also have internal short.
Volt gauge will show.

Could also have something staying on, like engine or trunk compartment light?
Pull one battery terminal, and see if test light lights up across gap. If it does, even weak, you have a constant drain. Could be alternator. When diodes go bad, alternator can drain battery. Disconnect things until light goes out.

sounds like alternater, is on its way out, if it is not charging or over charging, it can drain your battery dead.

If the engine is turning over and it still wont start try shooting a little starting fluid in the air cleaner to see if it will run .. if so your fuel pump is either bad or the fuel filter is getting dirty.. thanks and holler if you need more Jerry

New Alternater will not charge batery

When you touch the hot wire to the manifold you may have damaged your alternator. Take your Blazer to your local car service center such as Advance auto and have them run a test to make sure your rebuilt alternator is charging. Most centers will do this free of charge.
