What you will need is a blower motor resistor. For that model truck some parts stores will show 2 different models. 1 model will have 2 screws holding it in place and the other will be a 4 screw model. The resistor is located in the cab on the passengers side under the dash. You will see a group of wires (approx 6) and a short pigtail with a red and black wire. That is the blower motor resistor. Unplug both the plugs and remove the screws. Take it to a local auto parts store and get one. Being a Chevy pickup they are known for burning the wires up on the plug with the 6 wires. Auto parts stores will sell the pigtail too. The resistor should cost approx $20-30. Now just reinstall it and everything will be back to normal!!!!

This process should only take about 10-15 mins to replace.

Good luck!

My 1999 Chev Silverado heater control will switch to A/C on it's own

I had this problem occur on another vehicle of mine and it freaked me out for awhile. But I found that the AC pushbutton was semi-stuck and whenever I went over a somewhat significant bump the controls would switch over to AC. I finally replaced the AC pushbutton and the problem went away. I am assuming that you have a pushbutton, right?

It sounds like the blower motor resistor is going bad. It's located near the blower motor. I would also check the connector going to the blower motor resistor.

A 95% chance your wiper motor board is defective.
You will find this electronic board on the wiper motor.
Buy a replacement board at any parts store (NAPA etc ) and replace yours.
This is a VERY common problem and an easy fix.

Heater/ac switch speeds 1 and 2 don not work in 99 Silverado

you need a resister found under your air duct by the passenger floor under dash board auto zone sells these for about 25.00 you may as well buy cabin air filters while your at it . 1 of the screws will be a pain to install back into the duct work I left mine out didn,t make a difference . you might have to order it as they are a comman item oh you will need a vacuum to clean up mess from cabin air filters .this is not a hard job .

Most likely the blower motor resistor has failed. There is a updated version from GM that is much more durable.
