The low pressure side of the ac unit is the big aluminum pipe coming from the compressor, it usually goes back along the fire wall to the passenger side of the car, it has a small cap with an "L" on it, It is the only place that the filler will fit. Check it out , Hope this helps.

What kind of ac coolant does it have 134a or r 12 and where is the low pressure port for the ac located

Depends on the year. Cars in the early 90's used R12. Anything later uses R134a. The size of the charge ports will define the R134a port. An adapter is needed to fit on the charging hose. R12 requires no such adapter. Ther charging label under the hood will tell you what refrigerant is needed too. Since you failed to give enough information on what make and model car you have, a general answer for the location of the low pressure port will be given. On the compressor, the larger diameter hose connection is the low side. Connect there, or look for the drier/accumulator (Large diameter silver container near the firewall). Connect there. You will need to access the AC information label under the hood to determine how much freon to add to the system.

Either connection is bad to low pressure sensor or pressure sensor is faulty.

Ac drainline 2002 toyota camry

Hi Andreas, The valves for evacuation and refilling the ac are the same. To drain the system an evacuation pump should be connected to the low pressure and high pressure valves. The valves are situated in the engine compartment, the high pressure has a red valve cover and the low pressure black. You will easily find the valves by looking along the air conditioning plumbing. Location of ac low pressure port location 2004 chevorlet avalanch

Look back on the firewall for the two a/c lines. One is large and on is much smaller. The larger line is the low pressure line. Follow that line back to the compressor. The low pressure port will be on that line.

I have a 97 suburban. The A/C clutch engages (and I have cold air) then with disengage (warmer air) and later engage again. I cannot figure this out.

It sounds like you have a low freon condition in the AC system.
1. Go to the passenger side fender and look over the fender and to your left.
2. There should be a silver aluminum looking cannister that has an Air conditioning line attached.
3. Look for a little sensor with a plug attached (probably has 2 wires)
This is your low pressure AC cutout switch.
4. Unplug the connection and cross the two wires together with a paper clip or small cotter pin.
This will bypass the low pressure cutoff.
5. If the AC runs continuously when you do this.. then you have low freon in the system or a faulty low pressure switch. (Do not run the system permanently like this.. it could damage your compressor)

Best of luck..

Where is the low pressure for AC located on 2000 Lincoln Navigator

The low pressure port is the only one that your AC charging tool will fit on if you are planning to charge the AC unit with refrigerant. The high side port is much larger and the quick connect tool won't fit it. Look up high toward the firewall on Fords and Lincolns.

If it is a 2.4 quad four engine,it is under the car right off the ac compressor,if it is a v 6 then look and find the ac compressor, and follow the large line from the ac compressor until you come to it.

Low Pressure Valve 97 Grand Am

The low pressure valve is down by the AC Compressor. It is part of the aluminum manifold that connects directly to the AC compressor. It is accessible from above, but easier to reach from under the car.

By the way, is there any particular reason why you want to recharge your AC system? If it isn't working, adding refrigerant will not necessarily fix the problem. If the refrigerant has all leaked out, you probably need to evacuate the system first.

I need to know how to jump the ac low pressure to get my ac compressor to come on.

If you look on the low pressure side of the AC system you will see a plug that is incorporated in to the line. It will have two wires leading to it. Remove the plastic clip that attaches the two wires to the sensor and use a short piece of wire to connect the two terminals in side the plug by putting the ends into the cap. This will bypass the low pressure sensor and allow the AC clutch to engage and begin to cycle again. Remember this low pressure switch is there for a reason. If you don't add more r-134 to the system and allow the AC compressor to cycle you will destroy the compressor. You need to charge the system when you bypass the low pressure switch and get the system up to full charge status and reconnect the switch.
