Question about 1996 Chevrolet K1500

Have a 94 gmc rally van 1500 5.7 have no fuel injector pulse have power to one side of each injector replaced module in distributor could it possibly be computer

YOUR INJECTOR DRIVERS ARE IN THE ECM(COMPUTER). IVE HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE AND IT WAS JUST THAT. GOOD THAT U HAVE POWER BUT THE ECM SENDS YOUR PULSE WIDTH GROUND TO THE INJECTORS. IF U WANT TO SAVE SOME MONEY U CAN GET A KNOWN GOOD ECM FROM SCRAP YARD FOR AROUND 30 BUCKS AND TRY. IF NOT POSSIBLY BROKEN WIRE FROM ECM BUT IF U HAVE BEEN DOING MAJORITY OF MAINTENANCE THEN ECM MAY BE CULPRIT

It appears you have a 5.0 or a 5.7 TBI motor. If you have no spark and/or no fuel injector pulse - the most common problem was the ignition module and the pickup on the distributor. Most aftermarket dists come completely rebuilt or new with module and pickup already installed. you need to line up and mark where the dist lines up with before removing. If you haven't ever pulled a distributor out before I would recommend getting someone that has do it instead. You can easily get it out of time and it will still not start after you are done.

My injectors arent pulsing on my 1989 k1500 suburban. I have 12 volt power to the injectors and have replaced the module in the distributior. Any one have an anwser for me


The injector ground circuit must not be working. What causes the pulse is when the computer internally grounds the injector circuit, power is passed across the injector solenoid terminals. All the injector grounds are spliced together on each bank of engine, and run into the computer. So, injector power, but no pulsing would seem a computer malfunction as long as the ground wires are good. Did you check all the injectors for pulse with the noid light, or at least both sides of engine?

Injector issues.


Well, if you have a ground signal on one injector and not the other, the ECM is not grounding it.
If the plugs are firing on those cylinders, it may be the driver in the computer. The computer uses the same signal from the distributor that fires the plugs to pulse the injectors.
If those cylinders are not firing, it could be the pickup coil in the distributor or the module.

Spray starting fluid into the air intake of the engine, if it starts and you have fuel pressure you have no injection or injector pulse as we call it. Check ECM fuse one and two for continuity if it starts with fluid..

yes, if you have battery power at the injector, but when you check for "pulse" from the computer on the ground side of the injector and the test light does not blink, the most common problem is a failed distributor module.
The pick-up coil in the distributor can cause the same symptom. It is the pickup coil that the injector and spark control signals originate from it is connected directly to the distributor module. The module is what sends the signal to the ecm for fuel control and timing advance and also pulses the ignition coil. Some people call the distributor module the "ignition control module". However, it affects fuel as well as ignition, which is why I refer to it as simply the "distributor module".

If the module is bad, you can replace only the distributor module. If the pickup coil is bad, you will either have to disassemble the entire distributor to replace the coil (the hard way) or you can simply buy a remanufactured distributor. It is less expensive to replace only the coil, but the coils usually go bad as a result of worn distributor bushings and it is usually more trouble than it is worth by the time you get everything right.

If you have lots of time to work with me and do some electrical testing, I can help you determine if it is the module or the coil. However, if you just want to get your vehicle running as fast as possible, the easiest and quickest way is to go ahead and get a remanufactured distributor and be done with it. No signal on 2 injector wires it has power on one side but not the other i have had a new computer put in and flashed by the dealer but it didnt work


The injectors will have power on one side and its the PCM that sends a ground pulse [signal] to the other side. Did you unplug the injector connection and check for the ground pulse while cranking the engine or back probed while cranking or running? I would unplug the connection and check that way if you have not. If you still do not have that ground pulse then you should be able to find the same wires at the PCM and check for continuity along the wires for the two cylinders.
The ignition module sends a signal to the PCM which tells what injector to pulse. The ignition module also works with the distributor. You may want to look inside. Perhaps some strange thing happened to the relucor inside.

Throttle body injectors not fiering but there is fuel pressure


the injectors are fired thru the engine cotrol module but it gets its signal to fire from the pick-up located inside the distributor if you are loosing injector pulse only the ignition module is bad if you are also loosing spark when you loose injector pulse your pick up is causing the problem if you replace the pick-up i recomend you change the ignition module when doing so because they work together and you have to remove the distributor to change the pick-up
