That is either a problem with the console itself, or the BCM (Body Control Module) and would have to be checked by a qualified mechanic with the proper computer scan tools.

How do I get to the milage display located in a 2004 ford excursion?

There are two buttons located in the overhead console adjacent to the display; one changes the display from English to Metric and the other changes the displayed parameter. Press the second button (can't recall at the moment what its label says) until you come to the MPG readout.

The compass and fuel mileage/dte overhead display has stopped working and gone blank. no lights etc. what do i do to repair it?

The overhead console is quite prone to internal failure. Dim, intermittent, or dead displays are a common symptom of an internal failure. We offer a reasonable repair service with a lifetime guarantee. Check it out:

Overhead console, display gauge no power

This is a problematic module. It seems as though the soldering done on the module to complete the circuits was performed without taken into consideration that a vehicle on the road rolls over bumps, and gets warm and cold very quickly. All this points to this being your problem. The module itself is VERY expensive. This is not your only recourse. There are companies that repair these modules, for less than $50.00. is the e-mail for David Ruhberg. He will repair the unit, and guarantees his work. To get the module out, there is one screw in the sunglasses compartment, holding the whole overhead console to the roof of the vehicle. Once it's removed, you need to lightly wiggle and pry the console until it comes separated from the friction catches. After that, remove the connector from the module, and remove the module from the console. The vehicle will run fine without the module.

I have a 2007 Chrysler Town and Country overhead mamap lite

I very gently pried on the outer curve of the clear cover. It snapped out easily. Then I noticed it only clips in to place on the left and right side of the widest part of the cover. I was then able to simply twist the bulbs out socket and all.

Universal garage door opener

Hold the remote close to console (3 inches or so). Now press the button on the remote and also press a number on the overhead console. The display should change to the message "training" and after 30-45 seconds the programming should be complete. Release the button on the remote and console and see if it works.

If not you may need to erase all codes in the console. To do this press both outer buttons on the console and hold them for about a minute.
