Hi there i drive a 1989 nissan homy 4wd van engine type TD27. my problem is the hand brake light remains on when hand brake is off and not sure what this means.I have been told it might be the brake oil level so i topped that up and it went away for a while but now has returned and brake oil level is way above minimum so wonderin if anyone knows if there are any other things it could be warning me about

This used to happen in my 1979 Honda if the brake cable wasn't adjusted tightly enough, either due to the cable adjustment or the rear drum brake adjustment.

If I would push the hand lever down all the way, the light would go out.

My nissan td27 van brakes feel very hard when pressing. and the van cannot stop immediately especially in emagence brakes do not fuction at all. what could be the problem?

you may have a problem with the brake booster ,it sounds like you are not getting any power assistance from it, the diaphragm may be leaking or it could be a seal, also check the vacuum hose that goes onto the brake booster isn't split or squashed.....hope this helps.....cheers

  2. Tighten the attaching nuts and secure all electrical connections to the starter assembly.
  3. Install all remaining components in reverse order of removal.
  4. Reconnect the battery cables. If applicable, refill and check the oil level. Check the starter assembly for proper operation.

what a load of brown stuff from male cows, just fit the pump and get the timing marks lined up .end of story ---BUT CHECK THE CAMSHAFT PULLEY these motors never used a proper keyway ,its cast into the gearwheel and wears away allowing the wheel to turn and then your valves do a uri geller trick.

Brake and battery dashboard lights remain on with

If the brake and battery light are illuminated then you should have your alternator tested. It is possible that your charging system is failing in some way. Make sure your belt is on the engine. If the belt is on then make sure it is in good condition and tight. Make sure battery terminals are tight. Have the charging system tested.
