It seems that something is draining the battery. A light or switch somewhere. Any thing that's using power will spark when you disconnect it. Start at the battery and disconnect it to observe the spark then go to other connections you can find. The fuses are a good place to try. Pull the fuse and then try the battery to see if there is still a spark when you disconnect it. If it stops the spark then something on that fuse line is causing it. Be sure to get your radio security code from the manual or dealer before disconnecting the battery.

I had this problem when I bought the vehicle a year or so ago. I took it to a mechanic and he said their was a (swithch) he had to push to reset the, i think it was the iod so it would only draw a lower voltage. The whole thing ended up costing me over $250 but he didn't tell me where the switch was or how to reset it. As i have looked on the net, people talk about the iod, what ever and where ever that is, and the bcm as well. Again what ever and where ever that is. On guy said he had heard that replacing the front module fixed the problem as well.

    Your thoughts??????

Ignition Off Draw (IOD) FuseThe ignition-off draw is a normal condition when the ignition switch is in the off position, power is being drained from the battery. The IOD lets the battery current feed various accessories that require current when the

The IOD fuse is mainly used for a convenient way to reduce battery depletion when storing the vehicle for short term shortage, less than a month.

Removing the IOD fuse does not eliminate all the current draw of all the various items. It only reduces the current draw.
Locate the fuse for this in one of your fuse boxes and remove it and see how it works. You may can trace the wiring and find a reset.

2001 dodge grand caravan spin wont start

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.

To confirm the problem, the basic troubleshooting is required.

It is activated by a temperature switch. It's probably bad. Just runs the fan at any time for no reason or there is a short in that part of the system. I hate that the computor was changed first. Find that sensor and swap it out and see if your problem doesn't go bye bye.

Good luck
