HAVE NEW ALTERNATOR,NEW WATER PUMP,NEW RADIATOR,NEW THERMOSTAT HOUSING ! YOU HAVE TO DRIVE IT TO 30-40mph THEN NOISE STARTS BUT WHEN COME TO A COMPLETE STOP THE NOISE SLOWLY QUITS BEFORE I CAN OPEN THE...

If the noise sounds like a whistle or squeal, it may be the accessory drive belt slipping. You stated you replaced the alternator and the water pump, but did you replace the belt? Belts may look good even as they age, but they dry out and will get a glazed appearance and this acts like ice on the pulleys. The different accessories (alternator, power steering, A/C. possibly water pump) all provide resistance to the belt as it attempts to turn them. The faster the car runs, the more resistance. Thus, at idle, there may be no noise, but at 40mph, the resistance on one of the pulleys may get so great that the glazed belt starts slipping, causing a noise. This slippage could also be due to a belt that is not properly tight. If your vehicle has an automatic belt tensioner, it could be in need of replacement. If it is manually adjusted, it may need to be readjusted. Be advised, though, re-tightening a glazed belt may make the noise go away, but over-tensioning a drive belt can cause belt breakage or bearing damage to the drive accessories. It is worth the cost of a new belt to not have to replace all the drive accessories.

Why am i hearing a whistling noise coming from my front wheel?

It could be what is called the squeal warning on the front disc brake pads. If so, it indicates the pads are worn to the point that they should be replaced before they begin to do damage to the rotors. Pretty easy for someone who knows how to jack the car up, remove the wheel and take a look how much brake pad is left.

Is it a squeel or a hum / rumble? 1st run your hands around the tyres especially the inside. Check for hi and low spots on the tyres. If the tyre is hi low hi low hi low it makes a shocking sound. if it is a squeel noise have they checked your brakes cause brakes have squeelers to let you know they need changeing

Terrible grinding/scraping noise from rear somewhere. replaced all rotors and pads. no difference. it is only intermittent and worse on bumpy streets

i would start by checking your shocks and springs make sure they are not broken and are functioning correctly,, the springs you can do a visual inspection on, and the shocks you might be able to see at the same time. if your car can easley be bounced up and down in the rear that could be a sign that new shocks are needed, look under your wheelwell at the topside too see if the tires are rubbing at the top, would be another sign. look for clean spots or rubber marks.. also check muffler make sure you have nothing dragging if its close to the ground its probily not right and will drag on bumpy streets or when you hit potholes..

High pitched whistling on startup - madza121

The symptoms sound like a loose fan belt to me. That is normally described as a screech instead of a whistle but everything else matches.

This should not be hard to fix your self. Also a mechanic should be able to do it in 10 minutes including chatting to you.

If it is a fan belt your mechanic will know the sound 4 streets away too :)

For a short term fix and to prove if this really is the problem you can get your self something called "Belt Grip" It is in a spray on can. Follow the instructions on the can and if it fixed the problem you have the cause. Either get someone else to tighten your belt up or figure out how it's done. Basicaly you just loosen an adjusting bolt normally on the alternator and slide it out a little bit on it's track then tighten it up again.

Hope this helps

Whistling noise when accelerating

you most likely have an aftermarket radio installed
the noise you hear is engine noise, if yo turn your radio off it will go away
this can be fixed by either getting better wiring for your aftermarket radio or by installing a noise filter, you can purchase that at most big electronic stores

Whistling soung from engine

Take a look at the belt see if it has cracks or worn grooves.. if it dose have it replaced. if it doesn't pull on the belt back and forth see if the tension pully is giving the belt tension( it supposed to be about 1/2 of an inche to an inch or try to turn the belt around to almost half way) if not replace the tensioner pully. if good check the free pully by starting the car and spary a bit of wd40 on the center of the pully if noise disappers replace the free pully. if not see ur local auto shop..
