As far as I know there is not one available. Seeing as the design of the actual fan is critical to the housing it would not be recommended to change it out with another fan. You may well get poorer performance What you can do however is remove the fan motor from its housing and get it to an armature winder than can modify/rewire the original fan motor to give a higher ouput. This is done by removing the old windings from the armature and using a thicker guage wire, rewiring the motor. Using stronger magnets for the field or replacing the permanent magnets with an electrmagnet type design. Unfotunately the only DIY part of this is you removing and reinstalling the unit. Rewiring is pretty specialised.

My chevrolet uplander radiator cooling motor fan only working, when the A/C is turn on. Any relay or fuse that I need to check?

It would be useful if you had mentioned whether it was a radiator cooling fan motor or a heater/ventilation fan.

It is usual for the cooling fan to switch on with the A/C is on unless the ambient temperature is quite low, otherwise it only operates subject to engine coolant temperature via a thermal switch fitted into the cooling system and/or the engine management system.

The heater fan is either directly switched and faults relatively simple to trace or subject to the whims of the climate control if fitted when a degree in magic is needed along with a box of tricks.

Blower motor doesn't pump well even the fan switch on high

sounds like blower bearings are dried out and will eventually lock up the blower..sometimes you can spray wd40 in the blower bearings and it will work fine for a while.. also check vacuum controls to the baffle dors in the ductwork..may have some leaks there.. should hear a slight hissing if really bad..repost findings

Why won't my heater shut off? I can dial the fan down to the lowest blower setting, but it won't shut off at the Off button. The temp. is therefore set at 83 degrees. The modes work i.e., floor, defrost,...

If the ventilation system is set on any setting other than off (I'm talking about the vent, heat, defroster, ac, etc) the fan motor will automatically run at low unless yo select a higher setting. To get the fan OFF, turn off the ventilation system by selecting OFF.

Hello.

There are two probable causes for this problem.

The first is the fan power relay is sticking in the closed position and drawing power even with the key off. When you disconnect the battery the relay resets itself and you are back to "normal" until you run the cycle over again.

You noted that your SAAB has manual climate controls. It still may be a good idea to check the BCM harness ground connections. BCM is the "Body Control Module". I do not have a wiring diagram available for your car so can offer no additional advice other than to say that millions of dlooars are spent in the USA every year due to dirty or loose ground connections on computer and module harnesses.

All the best.

your circuit is simple--I will paste it below. suspect the blower has shorted and caused the switch to burn up. remove the blower and hotwire it to the battery to see if it works. If not, replace the blower. Then run continuity tests on the swoitch and replace switch if bad. If you have questions, please let me know. Here is procedure for taking blower out:

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION With Air Conditioning

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the glove compartment door and glove compartment by removing the retaining screws and bolts. Push the sides of the glove box in to free the drawer from dash panel.
  3. Loosen the instrument panel at the lower right hand of the glove compartment opening. This is on it necessary if the panel is in the way of the motor housing.
  4. Remove the retaining screws securing the ducting around the blower motor.
  5. Remove the clip securing the blower motor fan blade to the motor arm. Remove the fan blade from the motor.
  6. Remove the blower motor mounting plate from the evaporator case by unscrewing the retaining screws.
  7. Rotate the motor until the mounting plate clears the edge of the glove compartment opening and remove the motor.
  8. Remove the wire harness from the rear of the motor.
  9. Inspect the fan blade for broken edges or cracks. Replace if needed.

To install:
  1. Connect the wire harness to the rear of the blower motor.
  2. Install the motor into the case and secure with the retaining screws.
  3. Position and fasten the fan blade to the blower motor arm. Secure with the clip.
  4. Secure the blower motor outer housing to the duct assembly with the retaining screws.
  5. Install the instrument panel at the lower right hand side if removed earlier.
  6. Install the glove compartment door and glove compartment.
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8. Run blower motors to make the motor works correctly.
Without Air Conditioning
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the right ventilator assembly.
  3. Remove the hub clamp spring from the blower wheel hub. Pull the blower wheel from the blower motor shaft.
  4. Remove the blower motor flange attaching screws located inside the blower housing.
  5. Pull the blower motor out from the blower housing (heater case) and disconnect the blower motor wires from the motor.

To install:
  1. Connect the wires to the blower motor and position the motor in the blower housing.
  2. Install the blower motor attaching screws.
  3. Position the blower wheel on the motor shaft and install the hub clamp spring.
  4. Install the air inlet duct assembly and the right ventilator assembly.
  5. Connect negative battery cab
  6. Check the system for proper operation.

I have a 1999 Saab 9-5. The fan blower doesn't

The fan is located under the windsheild wipers. The windsheild wipers will have to be removed. Then remove the plastic shroud and wiper motor and assembly. The fan is located in the middle under the windsheild. If your feeling the AC you can check the stepping units located on the AC unit behind the front console under the dash.....KEH
