Whats wrong when i go to put on my battery cable to the right post the truck trys to start with no key in it...

The starter relay mounted on the passenger side inner fender well. That relay is defective or the signal wire is staying powered up. Maybe by a wire that has melted to it or a failure inside the ignition switch. Please let me know if I can be any more help. Good luck.

I attempted to get a jump start on my 2001 acura 3.5 rl and cables smoked and melted now my car will not start, what was blown and what do you suggest me to have checked?

It sounds like you criss-crossed the terminals. When you put negative to positive or vice-versa, it should spark. Right away you know its on wrong and reverse the cable to the other side. If you ignore the spark and continue to force and clamp down, you will immediately build heat and things will melt and burn. This is a complicated matter as you will need a mechanic to diagnose the issue which could be as simple as a fuse or replay (finding the right one takes a while some times) or replacing melted cables, or maybe a terminal isn't conducting electricity anymore.

Melted wires on the postive battery terminal

One of those secondaries will be the feeder for the ignition switch. The other may be for the fuse box, or may be for something else that is powered at all times-like the headlight switch. Here's how to clean it up:
First take off the negative battery cable-negative first to avoid sparking. Now you can pull off the positive. Most new positive battery cables only come with one "pigtail" or secondary insulated wire. But if you tell the parts person you have a Volvo and the year, they may have a cable specifically for your car with two secondaries. Or you could try the dealer for the right cable.
Barring that, if you just want to fix your old cable without buying a new one, you could take the stripped wire and crimp a new eyelet connector on the end and wrap the bare portion with several wraps of electrical tape. Now put the big cable terminal on the battery post, take off the nut on the tightener bolt, put the eyelet connector over the bolt, and tighten the nut down on the bolt. Now both secondary wires are attached? Put the negative post on and tighten it down. To avoid corrosion at the posts you can smear a little petroleum jelly (vaseline) on the post and cable connections, if you want.

Check battery cables are correct ! Prime suspect here ! Alternator may be damaged and shorting .. Don't drive any car that will melt jumper cables ! Something very basic wrong here.

Have a 97 dodge avenger it 3 leads off positive battery cable one goes to the emc and brain the big one tow the starter but the third one is getting melt down kinda hot and i was wondering were it goes...

The third wire is shorted out to ground. Remove the positive cable from the battery, remove the third wire from the positive battery cable. Re-attach the battery cable. Whatever doesn't work now is what that third cable powered up. Since you have to replace the third wire anyway this is a good way to determine what the third wire controls.

I have a 96 Ford Probe that I purchased a few weeks ago. I had both of the belts and the thermostat replaced and then I started losing power so I was told to replace the battery cables and terminals. I did...

Sorry I can't so much for you on this one except tell you that you have a hot wire or cable grounding out somewhere. I obviously is a large power line since it melts the positive post when contact is made. Check the positive cable that runs down to the starter. It may have been pinched or possibly melted through the rubber case that encloses the cable. Follow the cable from the batery or soleniod down to the starter and check where it may have come into contact with the hot exhaust and melted through. The reason the fuse blows/melts is because there is excessive draw. The other alternator could be wired wrong. Check to make sure the wires are correct gauge.
