My 1988 2.3 liter mustang will not start after sitting overnight

Being that this vehicle is a 1988 it is most likely still using an electric choke. When your vehicle is cold (even just not warm enough) it needs a richer fuel/air mixture to start which is what the choke is there for. When you turn the key the choke will automatically shut so the suction from the engine will pull fuel from all circuits of the carb. Anyways.. long story short for some reason it would seem your choke isnt closing as it should. This is generally just a hot wire thats connected to your carb.... maybe a short maybe its stuck open for some reason.. idk but that is where you should focus your attention. Hope this helps.

Car won't stay running after sits overnight and runs good after you do get it started

In the morning, turn key to on position for 5 seconds. Do not crank. Then turn off for 5 seconds. Repeat this about 5 times. Then try to start. If engine starts right up, the fuel pump check valve is bad. Meaning all fuel in fuel line is returning to the tank when car sits overnight. The only fix is to replace fuel pump. If that doesn't work, replace coolant temp. sensor for the computer. About a 12.00 part.

I have a 1990 ford bronco and it will start fine in the morning after it has been sitting all night but once the motor worms up it becomes hard to start and some times won't start at all, then I let it sit...

If you mean "hard to start and sometimes won't start at all" because it doesn't turn over or doesn't turn over fast enough you need to replace the starter & solinoid.

My 94 929 mazda won't start

You probably have a blown head gasket, not allowing you to get enough compression built to start the engine.

Rent a compression tester from AutoZone (You get your money back when you take it back) and use it. If the compression on each cylinder is less than 100 PSI, you've got some issues. The cylinders should also be somewhat balanced.

Car choke after period of running on street or highway, thought the gas could be problem but it wasnt and the engine light is on. I can let it sit awhile 5 to 10 mins and start up fine. I can not run long...

Yep, funny.. I've got the same problem. Only happens when there's been a dew point overnight tho.. (in other words, condensation on the windows) and only has happened in the morning.

The way it works for me is I'll start the car, run it for a bit.. then the RPM drops below 1000 even with the gas peddle floored. I'll turn off the car wait 10 seconds then turn the car back on and then the car will run fine for about 15 seconds.. this is basically a continues loop and only happen in the morning :(.

If anyone has a fix please let me know -> --ericbel_2@hotmail.com--
