The blower motor resistor is located behind the glove compartment adjacent to the blower motor. There is a access door under the dash right below the glove box, There are few screws that you will have to remove to take the door out. The blower motor resistor, is to the left of the blower motor in the air conditioning case. The blower motor resistor is held by screws, remove the screws to take the resistor out. Keep updated with any further queries.Thanks.

The blower motor and resistor module are located behind the glovebox. Visit www.trailvoy.com and do a search on "blower motor resistor" for a replacement procedure.

The heating and air conditioning fan only works on the highest speed position. What would cause the lower speeds not to work?

If the system is a Manual ( not the EATC / Electronic Automatice Temperature Control System ) it is most likely the blower motor resistor.

For the new body style 2004 ( not the 2004 Heritage or Lightning models ), it is behind the glove box.
Open teh glove box, press on one side, to allow the glove box to hang down.
The Blower motor resistor is located in the side of the blower motor housing.

If your 2004 is a Heritage or Lightning, the blower motor resistor is access from under the dash / glove box area.

On this type ( same as the 97-03 ) the blower motor resistor or the resistor and pigtail might need to be replaced.

Just pay attention to which body style 2004 you have ( new like the 2005-2008 or the 2004 Heritage / Lightning, which looks like the 97-03 MY trucks.

How do you change the blower motor on a 2004 dodge caravan

hello,

1.First dissable the air bag system

2. open the glove compartment, squeeze the side in to release the glove box stops and lower glove box.

3.You will see the Blower Motor Resistor directly behind the glove box.

4.There will be two pig tails (one vehicle harness, one resistor), remove pig tails, remove two screws to free resistor.

5.Replace resistor, reverse removal procedure.

Done!!

Take care..

Fan only works on high speeds (4-5)

The blower motor speed resistor has gone bad, you can pick one up at most Auto Parts store like Auto Zone or your local GM dealer. The resistor is located by your blower motor under the dash behind your glove box.
Auto Zone and the dealer can give you the instructions to getting the job done and best to replace the wire harness also.
Thank you for using Fixya and be safe

BLOWER RESISTOR BAD FAN ONLY RUNS @ HIGH SPEED

Chevrolet 2004 TrailBlazer

Look next to the blower. You can remove the panel under the passenger side. Go through the glove box and move it down out of the way to access the electrical connector. Then remove two bolts and the electrical connector.

NEED TO REPLACE BLOWER RESISITOR. FAN ONLY WORKS ON HIGH SPEED

Under the dashboard on the passenger side you will see the blower motor. Near the blower motor inside the air duct is the resistor. It should be held in place by two screws. Hope this helps. Good luck
