Question about 1995 Buick Regal
It is in the timing cover. Never have seen one that has went bad. 20+ years at a buick dealership. Remove oil pan and clean out the pick-up screen, replace oil pressure sensor and use a ac delco pf47 oil filter.

SOURCE: cant get the oil pan off
you have to losen up your motor mount and actually lift the motor up a little ways. now if you do this make sure you block up the motor before you get under the car encase the motor falls. we just did one of these in our repair shop and the one tech tried to cut the corners by not blocking the motor up and the chain did brake. now he is missing 2 fingers on his hand so Be vary carefull while doing this and make sure some one else is with you. Hope this helps you and please rate my solution.

More than likely (and we will hope) it is the oil sending unit. In comparison it is a very cheap and quick fix to replacing the oil pump. Auto Zone has a pretty good componet location section that has tips for replacement if you cant find the sending unit or the oil pump. Try that first it may save you a lot of work.

Sounds like you might have an oxygen sensor problem. Your catalytic converter(s) maybe defective or dirty. That in turn can dirty up the oxygen sensor. A defective oxygen sensor will send faulty info to the computer, interpreting the fumes as cold (even when the engine warms up). That causes the computer to adjust the fuel mixture to very rich, giving you poor gas mileage and the fuel smell. Hope it helps.
