Hello. A vibration in the steerign wheel indicates an issue with the front tires. They are either out of balance, and would need to be rebalanced, or it is possible (although remotely) that the tire(s) may be compromised (after hitting a pothole), the belts in the tire may be corrupted. What I would suggest is to take the car to a reputable tire place, and get the balance checked. While the tire is on the balancer, the Tech will be able to see if the tire is out-of-round due to possible road damage. Probably just a tire balance problem. A typical slim jim wont do the trick for you.
You need special tools to do the trick. Most tow truck drivers have them.
