Question about 1995 Toyota Camry
My 95 Toyota Camry started missing and we found that one of the rubber wires going to a spark plug was cracked, before we found the problem the check engine light came on. We have fixed the spark plug problem but the check engine light is still on. The car has about 204,000 miles on it but has been well maintained and has had no problems so far. Any idea why the check engine light is on and is it safe to drive? Any ideas are really welcomed. Thank you, Robin
Be sure that the valve cover gasket is good also,,, if its leaking it floods out the top portion of the plug and wire, and will cause the motor to miss .

My 95 Toyota Camry rather slows down and the engine sound changes when you press the gas(accelerator) pad harder when overtaking a car. You can only overtake a car when you press the accelerator gradually. Elisha Ghana

Once you have a problem, the light is supposed to stay on until you reset it. Just have a place like Autozone read it and reset it for you for free.
But it is possible the O2 sensor may need to be cleaned. When the engine was missing, a lot of carbon could have been deposited on it. Some people clean it with a propane torch.
