Question about 1989 Chevrolet C/K 2500

1 Answer

My 1989 chevy 2500 4.3 liter v6 wont start. I'm getting fuel and i have spark. I've replaced the coil, spark plugs and wires, ecm, checked the distributer and cap. Everything i have checked seems to be fine and anything that has even been remotely bad i have replaced and it still wont start.

It looks like you changed all the ignition parts. so Yes you got fire......................but you don't have gas. or it would start. check for fuel again. somethings wrong. if you had gas, it would start. i dont think your getting fuel

You can have the coil and module tested at most auto parts stores. The module provides the ground signal to the coil. It could also be the pickup coil in the bottom of the distributor.

1989 ford escort turns over but wont start

if all you did was this...and and put a new battery in and still wont start...if you have went thru your plugs..wires..distributor..ignition coil...made sure your getting spark..if not..check your relays and fuses..preferebly one that deals with spark and timing for injectors..if everything is fine to that point...then try a crankshaft position sensor...it tells the pcm timing for fuel injectors and fire to the ignition coil...hopefully this helps.

My 89 jeep cherokee won't. Start it will turn over

what motor? is the coil producing spark?? If so, check the fuel pressure, if the fuel pressure is low drop the tank, repace the pump and also replace the filter (located on the frame forward of the tank). If the coil is not producing spark, check for shorts or opens in the circuits as well as the IGN fuses. If there is NO fuel pressure at all check the fuel pump fuses and make sure the fuel pump is plugged in and there are no opens in the circuit

Engine turns over getting fuel but wont start. I have an 89 chevy beretta 2.8

Check for spark. If none replace coil then replace spark plugs because continuous startlng w/ no spark loads the plugs with fuel, fouling them.
