You can do it as you want but you may incounter problem if the orignal pump inside tank will stuck off, also the strainer you cant pump fuel, so its better that replace the original or if you canceeled the stock pump, remove it fron tank and connect another pipe to old pipe to take fuel, put fuel filter before and after fuel pump

Nope. it wont work because without the gas tank fuel pump working , no fuel will be able to flow thru the fuel pump (in the tank)

You should stick with the in-tank fuel pump and repair it. The computer requires signals for your engine to run and bypassing this would require addressing those issues too. It is also possible there is blockage in the in-tank filter. The inline "cut in" is more work then the original repair. Be Very Carefull while working around these componets and have fire extinguisher equipment.

How to put inline fuel pump in tank silverado 2500

you would need to drop the tank pull the old pump out and put in a tube to get it to the pickup screen,,instead of the nightmare of putting in a inline pump,,, just put the one in the tank that's factory,,,you can either drop tank or take off the bed of the truck and slide it back

Im having fuel pump issues. could you please tell me where the fuel pump is located on a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am SE

The fuelpump is located inside the gas tank, you will need to drop the tank to replace the pump, heres a picture of the pump and in goes in through the top of the tank, the fuelpump is called a fuelpump module because it comes complete with holder sending unit and all other parts as you will see in the picture, hope this helps, good luck.johnjohn2_17.jpg

04 chevy avalanche , takes 2 times the rotations of starter to turn the engine over but still starts .. Changed plugs and wires and tips maybe fuel pump injectors?

You are on the right track, the problem which is common is the fuelpump, the problem is , theres an internal antiflow valve the goes bad inside the pump, what happens is the fuel runs back into the tank and empties the lines and injector rail, when you go to start the truck it now take time for it to pnump fuel back through the lines to fuel rail and injectors and pressurize, so it take so cranking to get going. a little neat trick to be sure is to turn key on then off three times and then it should fire up, if it does then its the fuelpump, you will need to drop the tank and replace the fuelpump asm, the pump will still operate, we have customers that have had this problem for a couple of years and still havent repaired it due to the cost, they dont mind the long crank time to start, if you are going to repair drive until gas is about empty, this will help alot when its time to drop the tank, heres a picture of the fuelpump asm, hope this is helpful, have a good day.johnjohn2_13.jpg

I have a 94 dodge dakota and the fuel gauge doesn't work properly, is it perhaps the sensor, how do I replace it?

yes, it souds like it may be the sending unit, this is located inside the tank on the fuel pump asm, you will need to drop the tank so i would run as low as i could on fuel it make the job easier, remove the strap and lower the tank enough to dissconnent the fuel lines and fuelpump connector, lower the tank remove the lock ring and pull pump asm out, replace the whole asm or if the sender is available replace that .

Gas leaken new tank 94 4 runner think its fuel pump seal but dont wanna drop tank if dont have to found axcess pannel under rear passenger seat but dont see fuel pump to see if thats where its leaking from...

If the smell is coming from the back of the vehicle then it could be leaking from the return line or the filler hose. I would check the fuel filler hose first since you can probably get at it wihtout dropping the tank. You might be able to get to the return line as well which is a small hose that goes to the tank from the fuel pressure regulator to return unused fuel. If the smell is coming from the front of the vehicle I would inspect all of the fuel lines and the inline fuel filter if you have one installed and verify that none of the hose is damaged and all clamps are tight. Check your injector rail and make sure it is not leaking where it provided fuel to the injectos and check your injectors seat to see if there is any evidence of fuel leakage.

If you can't find any leaks in those locations then you are gonna have to drop the tank and check the pump.

Hit the bottom of the fuel tank. This jars the fuel pump. If the truck starts You need a pump. Common problems to GM is the pump.
