If it's not the pin and clip style in the center section the the axles unbolt out at the wheel.

How to change front cv shaft on a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 5.2L

You will have to get a wheel hub puller. It's basically a huge body dent puller with an attachment that hooks up on the wheel studs. You then pull out the entire hub and the axle slides out with it. The hub is what's holding in the axle.

How to install a new rear axle in a 02 gmc sierra 1500

Jack it up ,pull the wheel on the bad axle side, remove the diff. cover,
remove the small pin holding the large pin in,slide the big pin out ,push the axle in from the wheel end, remove the c-clip in the axle and slide it out.
Would be wise to change the seal at the end af the axle tube at the same time. Slide the new axle in ,put the c-clip in the axle ,push it back in the carrier and reinstall the large pin and keeper pin,"Right Stuff" sealer makes a good cover gasket,3/8 drive for the fill plug, some gear iol and you're done,,not a bad job,no special tools required.

What is the foot pounds for the front wheel bearings on a 1995 chrysler cirrus

Hello, If you Chrysler has replaceable wheel bearings and seal. This is the way it goes---pack the wheel bearing with new grease-install the bearing in the wheel nub--install new back wheel seal--coat the axle shaft with grease lightly, thing coat-----install wheel hub on to axle shaft...be careful here don't damage the rear hub seal------------insert front race washer---install axle shaft nut--tighten nut down wheel nut until it is firm with water pump pliers----spin the hub/with tire mounted.
(the wheel and hub will turn but not freely)----take the pliers and back off the axle nut 1/4 turn----now spin the wheel and axle hub, it should spin freely---now if doesn't spin freely---back off the axle nut about 1/16 or 1/32 (or just a little bit)-----now, spin the wheel and hub and if turn freely------------Now grab the top of the wheel/tire and move it back and forth.-----if there is some movement ---try tighten the axle nut just a little little bit, unit the one can barely feel some little movement in the wheel/tire and hub.-----------Now, spin the wheel/tire and hub and it should also turn freely.

If it does----install new and correct size of cotter pin and bent the ends around the axle nut.----

coat the inside of the hub cup with grease. Now, use an rubber or plastic hammer to install the cup on the wheel/tire hub. You are finished with one wheel bearing maintenance. Now do the other side.

I really don't know if you Chrysler Cirrus has replaceable wheel bearing. All the auto/trucks have replaceable hubs, that means that the replacement is total hub with axle shaft, sealed bearings, and seals. This is bolt to each wheel steering hub. This work to remove these one unit hubs.

Four bolts hold the axle hub to the steering hub. Hear is the problem!! it has rusted to the steering hub. Also, these hubs cost more than replacing bearings, races, seals to cool turn of $180 to $250+ I wish you luck in your replacement of wheel bearing on your Chrysler. GB..stewbison

How to change a front wheel bearing on a 51 plate jeep cherokee

If it's four wheel drive, remove the wheel center and the cotter pin and castelated cover on the axle nut. put the wheel back on the car. With the car on the ground, put your socket through the center of the wheel and using a long breaker bar (with the aid of a five foot pipe) break the axle nut free. Remove the wheel, caliper and rotor. Loosen the three twelve point bolts that retain the bearing hub assembly to the steering knuckle and turn them most of the way out. Put an old twelve point socket on them one at a time and hammer them to drive the hub out of the knuckle, using lots of solvent around the perimeter. If the axle tries to follow put the axle nut on it and give it a shot to separate it from the bearing. Once removed, clean all rust from the bore and reverse process using the new hub. Torque on axle nut is 175 foot lbs. if cotter pin does not align properly, turn tighter to align holes, never back off to do that.
good luck

JACK up the truck and block other rear wheel both back and take hand brake off ,,remove rear wheel/brake drum/handbrake cable from rear brake/remove metal brake hose/remove rearbacking plate with all parts fitted to it ie brakeshous 4or5 bolts holding the rear axle in to housing and when all parts off then put on a IMPACK PULLER and remove complete backing plate with axle assy and take to the engineering shop to get it pressed off and a new bearing and seal assy pressed back on .
Then refit in reverse of removal and bleed the brakes and top up the rear axle of oil (EP90) apply h/brake take out blocks and lower jack and test drive .. BUT MAKE SURE THE BRAKES ARE 100%

Bent right rear RH axle 2001 prerunner 2wd.

Hello, and welcome to FixYa. Let me assist you as follows:
Removing the rear axle shaft is realy quite easy.
Her is what you need to do:

Remove the wheel/tire.
Remove the rear brake drum.
Remove the brake line to the rear wheel cylinder and plug the line.
Remove the park brake cable.
Remove the entire rear backing plate assembly; no need to remove the rear shoes.
When the backing plate is off, the axle shaft slides out of the axle housing; there are no "C" clips to remove, like on a Chevrolet. The axle is not held at the differential in any fashion.
Note that if you replace the axle shaft, you will need a machine shop to press the wheel bearings & seals onto the new shaft.

If you have any further questions; please feel free to respond.

Thanks for choosing FixYa for assistance; the graciousness of a FixYa rating for my instructions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
