There is probably an a/c clutch relay in the fuse and relay box. The most common reason for the a/c clutch not engaging is a low charge though. Have you hooked gauges up?

The AC fan on my 2013 Rav4 will not operate. It worked fine earlier in the day.

If you can check power to the fan do that. It could be the fan or the relay which sends power to the fan. I have had relays that would get hot and drop out. If the fan works and sometimes doesn't you can just see if the relay is real hot. That would be a indication the relay is bad.

It is a simple video but the truth is In the last 20 years 90% of all my vehicle problem have been electrical. Check code if you have them. check fuse and relay.
If your a/c only works on the high fan setting it is a good indication it is the resistor. Make sure when you turn your a/c on one of the radiator fans comes on. Make sure the clutch starts spinning on the air compressor when the a/c is turned on. A/C will not come on due pressure switch is Freon is low . Hope something in this helps you.

2008 Nissan titan ac relay compressor won't power up help

A low freon level will cause the compressor to not operate by not grounding the relay. Some Nissans also use the heater motor resistor to make the relay operate. If your heater speeds do not function on all settings the resistor could be the problem

I have replaced the blower relay, the resistor looks fine, but blower won't work on my 1986 Silverado

Change the resistor. For the 15-20 bucks it's a great diagnostic and a very common problem with GM vehicles.
Then you can start backtracing the harness as ray012965 suggested.

The level control does not come on . I which relay controls it

best way to find out is to listen to the compressor and if it isn't coming on when it should, then you need to go to the relay and see if it is getting power, and also if it is putting out power to the compressor when it kicks on. If you are getting power to the relay, but it never kicks in and sends power to the compressor when it should, then you could have either a bad relay, or the sensor that tells the relay to turn on is bad. there will be other wires running into the relay, and you will have to know which wire is the relay trigger, and whether it should be sending voltage to the relay, or grounding the relay when it should be. As a general rule, if a sensor has only one wire, it is sending a ground (or negative) signal to the relay to turn in on, but if it has two or more wires going into the sensor, then it most likely is sending a positive (or 12 volt hot) signal to the relay.

1993 Ford Escort Blower Motor & AC Switch

I'm going to start from the beginning.
The blower motor gets power from the high blower relay and it is grounded thru the fan switch and the resistor. So you should have power on the pink white blower wire coming from the high relay to the blower motor. The orange black wire from the motor is ground going to the resistor and fan switch. The blue wires on the control panel are for the ac compressor.
The high blower relay gets power from fuse number 5 in the box. The blower motor is grounded thru the resistor and then thru the fan switch.

pull switch if no power back track to find open if power switch is bad the a/c relay runs the compressor a/c fuse powers relay fuse is powered by the ecm , ecm gets command from control switch, ecm reads all input and powers relay to send voltage to compressor. wire should go back to fuse box and be hot with key on.

Air conditioner not working on 1993 bonnevile, compressor not engaging, charge good, power at low pressure switch, switch is closed, need to know what turns a/c relay for compressor clutch on, clutch...

the ECM supplies the ground circuit for the a/c clutch. the high pressure switch also needs to be closed to engage the clutch. when the low pressure switch and the high pressure switch are closed that completes the power circuit to trigger the relay.then the power on the #30 terminal can connect to the #87 terminal to send power to the a/c clutch.

Hello, Your A/C switch in the dash should send the signal to power the A/C relay in either A/C or Defrost mode. The knobs on the A/C panel for cold and hot temperatures on the older models with rotary controls would break and slip on the temperature control stem. The back of the switch had indentations which prevented a broken knob from doing a 360 degree turn, but the stem itself would not move.

If you do not have a digital face for the A/C control head, you may want to remove the temperature knob from the stem and turn the stem by hand or gently turn with a pair of pliers. You seem to have made all the right moves to test the system; I would have expected the A/C clutch to have engaged with the jumper wire. The only thing I can think of is the Command to cool the system depends on the temperature setting and the function selector to be on A/C. The other idea is if the blower Resistor is shorting the link to the A/C compressor. Usually I am trying to get the blower fan to work and not looking at the compressor clutch. Really don't expect cold air without a fan.

I would be interested in knowing what the outcome for this problem is. I hope my solution is very helpful, most people do not get as far as you have without fixing the truck.

If you have a Digital A/C head, there is a diagnostic routine it can be put in with a Code only the Techs use.
