Question about 2000 Pontiac Grand Am GT
If you find that the wipers aren't working, leave them on with the key on. Wiggle the end of a wiper blade or push it with a stick. If the wipers suddenly come on, even just for an instant, the printed circuit board in the wiper motor has lost its ground. Getting to the wiper motor is no fun, but when you gain access to the plastic cover that shields the electronic board examine the solder connections on the perimeter of the board. Lugs penetrate the board from the wiper motor assembly and serve as ground (negative) for the control board. If you look really close at the solder connections you will see where they broke. Solder these and bridge this problem joint with copper wire.

Check for electrical plugs going to the wiper motor, unplug it and plug it in a few times to sorta clean the connection tabs inside . they get water and dirt inside and it makes a bad connection. if the problem persists it could be a bad switch in the car, and maybe even a bad wiper motor
