2 Answers

I just bought this 88 f150 and the headlights, and radio do not work as well the gas Gage kinda sweeps or says full even with its not some times it will show the actual amount of fuel tho and the rear anti lock light is on and the check motor some times comes on the only issue im most concerned about is the headlights but were all these issues are electrical i thought they might all be connected to one issue perhaps

Hi! Its definitely connected to the most important part of the car which is the car's brain. It is called the PCM (powertrain control module). If the PCM is faulty, every electrical accessories in the car won't run right that includes the engine, transmission, instrumental panel, lights, etc. Once the PCM is replaced you'll be good. Please write back on the progress. Hope this helps and have a good one!

Yes, they are all electrical, and all appear to be caused by a bad contact at the ignition key wire loom. You will need to test the entire circuit but (since the headlights are what counts the most for you) you should start with the lights main relay and the associated fuses. If you haven't worked on this car before it's best to buy a repair manual like this one
http://www.haynes.com/products/productID/161
In there you will find all the wiring diagrams and detailed instructions on how to fix your car.

I have a 2004 f150 ford explorer. I have been having troubles with the gages dropping so I took it to my mechanic and they found various codes in the odometer reading area. they searched the codes and they...

Check the ground points. You don't need a cluster. The cluster will not turn the radio or anything else off. I don't have the ground points for the f150. You can probably find them online. Since you're having problems on the inside, look under the dash. Common points are at each side of the cabin area by the side kick panels. Also around the steering column. Any black or black/white wire will be a ground. Since the truck keeps running, the grounds under the hood are probably fine.

My gas gauge is stuck how do I fix it on a 1970 olds delta 88

if you disconnect the wire at the sensor or down from the sensor were you can get to it the gage should register empty and if you disconnect the ground it should register full. if nothing happens then the gage on the dash is bad, if gage moves the fuel level sensor in the tank is bad.

Fuel gage not working

Could be the sending unit in the tank, or the gauge on the dash. A mechanic would check the signal from the sending unit at the tank.

Front driver headlight not working. just bought a new bulb

Try checking the fuses. I recently purchased a 96 Olds. 88 and it was wrecked on the right-front. Replaced the light and the fuse. I hope that helps.

My gas gage is either on full or once in a while 2002 buick regal

there is a float in your gas tank kinda like the float in your toilet. Sometimes they stick and if the bell goes off then back.. it prob. from the gas splashing in the tank. I wouldnt' be concerned too much.
