Here's what worked for my 2006 Trailblazer...
I had the same issue with the blower working on what ever speed it wanted to work that day. I did not want to take it to the dealer because of the $$$ that they were going to take away from me by just hooking it up to their mandatory diagnostic machine. Anyway, after long hours online I finally decided to go with the Blower Motor Resistor and once I replaced it, it worked and it continues to work like new. I did have to buy it from the dealer though for about $110 but it is pretty easy to install. It took me about 10 minutes to remove and replace (that's after me taking it off several times prior to the actual replacement though). Look it up online for a how to replace the resistor..
Hope this helps out. Let us know...

{: ) If your Trailblazer has manual HVAC controls, check the blower fuse at the underhood fuseblock (fuse35, 40A). If okay, then you may have an open circuit on the max speed position of the blower control switch.

ON a 2006 HHR LT is there separate fuses for the three fan speeds. The high fan speed is working but th low and medium speeds are not. Where are the fuses located

the fan speeds work through a blower motor resistor and not separate fuses for each speed. when these resistors go bad they are designed to work on high speed only.

I have a 2006 Chevrolet Trail Blazer. And the heater blower stopped working. I feel a little bit of hot air but not a lot.

If it's not climate controled, (has knobs to turn the blower motor to different speeds), change your blower motor resistor module. Located under the glove box.

2006 GMC Envoy I6 HVAC fan stopped working. Level 5 stopped about 6-months ago and now it doesn't work at all. I checked all fuses and the cooling fan relay but still not working.

If high speed went out first, then it is the switch.
There is the most arcing in the switch at high speed.
If there was motor or relay trouble, it would effect all speeds.
If there were problems with the ballast resistor, it would effect lower speeds.

2006 silverado 5 speed heat, the high speed is not working. I do have the 4 lower speeds

The switch, high blower speed relay or the wire harness at the blower motor has gone bad. The highest setting 5 has no resistor, so the blower runs on high but the high current flow ends up burning up the switch's contact on that setting or the relay and may be the resistor wire harness at the blower motor has gone bad. Common would be the switch it self, if the switch is good. Then it's going to be the blower relay or wire leads at the speed resistor by the blower motor under the glove box by the passenger leg compartment. Keep me posted, be glad to help you get your Silverado running 100% again soon.

Check the wire plug connecting the fan motor. It may be broke or a bad connection...If not. Then your fan motor may be shorted out.
