Noisy engine when cold

Sounds like low oil pressure, there should be a check ball valve in the pump it may be stuck in the open position or the spring that holds it may be weak. Try 20/50 Castrol GTX and a quart of slick 50 with a new oil filter. If it still makes noise when cold it will be time for an engine rebuild in the near future.

Engine oil psi low and light is on

Check oil if ok then observe, engine noisy? Clanking? If so you need to pull oil pressure switch and take manual reading with oil pressure gauge. If engine is running fine with no irregular noises Probly changing oil pressure switch wouldn't be a bad idea.

When I start the car aveo 2005 I hear noisy sound for few seconds only coming from engen what is this sound

the noise is probably the hydraulic lifters rattling after startup before suffient oil has circulated thru engine
as long as the noise stops pretty quick there is nothing to worry about

Xtype 2.5 awd.engine rattle.more noisy when revved

hi, it sounds to me like the hydraulic lifters need changing first of all check the oil level as low oil can cause the sound you hear also if it has not been serviced recently then get the oil and filter changed as this could also cause the problem.

As your car isnt that old then the chances are a good service will solve the problem unless it has high millage if this is the case then the hydraulic lifters need replacing.

This isnt the kind of job you can do yourself it needs to be done by an expert.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

Vw t4 '03 tapping noise

Hi,

Next time it's tapping at idle, press the brake pedal hard several times. If it stops tapping then gradually returns then it is a noisy vacuum pump.

It can go on like that or years (if you can put up with the tapping that is!) if you start to loose servo assistance while manovering then it's time to change the pump.

Hope that helps.
