Remove the door handle screws, and possibly the armrest has some screws hidden under dimples. then remove door handles from metal linkage and use a small putty knife or flat screwdriver and gently pop the door panel loose from the door. there are little press in plastic tabs that are connected to the door panels that just pop out of the holes on the doors , if you be careful and wedge away from the door with the screwdriver

How to fix window that will come down but won't come up

If manual window it probably fell off track. If power? it's a switch or motor, either way you have to remove the door panel first to find out why it won't move.

My car windows stop working but i can't find the fuse, what can it be?? My car is a Pontiac Grand Prix GT 2004

Look in the owners manuel for the fuse diagram. If the fuse is not the problem then you will have to take off the door panel because the motor might be blown or the glass slipped off the track.

How to remove the exterior door handle of a 2000 pontiac grandprix?

Hello,

To remove the exterior door handle of the 2000 pontiac grand prix, You will be needing these instruments, wrench set, Putty knife, Screwdrivers, Socket wrench set and please follow the steps below:
  1. Roll the door window all the way up. Disconnect the car battery's negative cable with a wrench.
  2. Remove all cover plugs on the interior door panel with a putty knife. Remove all armrests, door pulls, the window crank and trim-panel retaining screws with a screwdriver.
  3. Remove and disconnect any electrical devices in the door panel. Pry the controls out with a putty knife, and unplug the wires.
  4. Pry the trim-panel clips loose with the putty knife. Do not pry on the panel between the clips, or the panel could be damaged. Separate the trim panel from the door slightly, and disconnect the courtesy light. Remove the panel from the door, and peel back the plastic water shield.
  5. Detach the lock rods from the latch. Unhook the rods from the latch holes by hand.
  6. Remove the door-handle nuts with a socket wrench through the service holes in the door frame. Rotate the lock cylinder as needed for clearance, and pull the handle from the door.
  7. Reverse the steps for reassembly.
Hope this helped. Thank You for using FixYa!!!

I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix se. Both the drivers side windows will not go up/down. I removed the rear door panel of both doors and the small metal cable has come off. Is there a diagram or a fix to...

I had a problem similar to this but mine was in a GT and they would just work when they wanted to. I just had all the wires cut leading to the front passenger seat, back driver seat, and back passenger seat. And left the wires on the main. They all work perfect now. But the downside is that the driver is the only one who can put the windows down. (Which isn't always a bad thing) Hope I could help!

Power window on 1999 pontiac grand prix gt 2 door driver side broke. motor still works but window wont stay up.

what I would recommend is that you will have to test the window actuator first. You will need to remove the door panel to get at the actuator. From there, just jump the actuator to see if the window goes up or down. Don't worry about which terminal is positive or negative, they are switched back and forth by the control switches.

2000 grand prix - speaker install

its really a common sense thing, im not trying to be nasty or rude, you will need to remove the panel, it actually has a screw that hold the handle together to the frame, on top of that you might consider grabing one fo things that look like a fork that will help you in removing the plastic type screws that hold your panel to the frame. Then just switch and remove.

How much will it cost to fix my drivers window? i recently bought a 200 pontiac grand am gt but the window on drivers side doesnt work - there is something in side of it holding it in place. do you know...

remove door panel inside car and check motor with test light.
check window regulator/track window rides on, for proper operation, check cable is not broke.
replace motor if bad buy a new one, replace regulator from junk yard, new is pricey. 250.00 dealer cost.
350-400 for the whole job :(

has that side of the car ever been wrecked, used in inordinate number of times or do you freqyuent car washes often?
Spray the bejeesuz out of the switches on that and DRIVERS door with WD40 and that little red hose that comes with the can...spray all around the switches and wipe them afterwards with a "damp" towel with dish liquid to remove the overspray.
P.S.
One "backyard" mechanic fix is to strike the drivers door panel with your fist just below the switches AS HARD AS YOU CAN a couple if times...GM's are noted for "carbon-tracking" on their switches and the strike helps shake the carbon loose,
