YES it does need a thermostat to run proper, which is why they are installed.
side effects are poor fuel economy , and not enough time to cool the heated water, which will overheat your coolant and then the engine. if your lucky it might not crack your cylinder heads, and maybe it wont blow your head gaskets. BUT . 20 bucks for a thermostat , or owning a useless car with blown engine ? your choice

Replaced Thermastat and just blowing warm air

Not bleeded properly. Not sure whats the correct procedure for this car but you can try running it without a radiator cap until all the air comes out. Do not drive the car until you make sure heater is working and radiator fan comes on. Also look for the bleeding screws around

How to change a thermastat

let the engine cool off then slowley remove the radiator cap find the drain for the radiator (bottom), drain the cooolant into a container and dispose of properly no contamination this way. follow the upper radiator hose to the thermastate housing carfully remove the bolts from the housing. if the housing dont lift off tap lightly with a screwdriver handle (not too hard could break), lift housing off and find thermastat notice the position from top and bottom of thermostat replace and refill coolant. run engine for a bit watching the temp gauge till engine warms up the check antifreeze level add if needed.

1992 Buick Century Custom. Trouble starting as though not getting gas. Changed the fuel pump and filter and still has the problem. After a few trys it will start and run ok. ?????

Sounds like you need to replace the fuel pump relay which is about $13 at Autozone. It is simple to replace. It is under the hood on the passenger side right behind the headlights.

I have a 1992 buick century custom. The end of the door opener handle inside on the drivers side just broke off so the door will not open from the inside. I can see what needs replacing. I cant see how to...

There is a " C " clip attached to the window handle, which secures it to the mount. . A special claip removing tool is required . Hope this helps.

1992 Buick Century won't start sometimes but has spark in the plugs.

Faulty cam sensor maybe - it controls the injectors. To diagnose, when you get a non-start, spray a V.small squirt of easy-start(ether) and if it runs a little then you have a fuel issue. The spark timing is controlled by the crankshaft sensor so that can be faulty and cause a mistimed spark but usually you'll get a mis-fire in those cases.
