Have exccesive roar in front end that sounds like loud ground grip noise but it is not the tires. I had this same issue with a chevy 2500hd and it was the wheel bearings going out. New hubs fixed the...


If it's 4 wheel drive, it could be a bearing in the differential or transfer case chain on its way out.

If it's 2 wheel drive then all it could be is either brakes or wheel bearing/hub assembly.

What would cause a loud roaring in the back seat of my 2001 Monte Carlo as I am driving?


That roaring noise should be a wheel bearing. Jack up the rear wheels and spin the tires by hand. You can hear a grinding noise if the noise inside the car is as load as you state.. The only other noise that will be like that is the differental gears inside the drive axle
