Question about 2008 Porsche Cayenne

The 2008 cayenne factory installed phone worked when new but not for the last year. What happened? What can I do? The local dealership knows nothing about the phone.

    I had a cell phone subscription and now have bought new cell service to be sure I have an active number....nothing. It says "network unavailable" on the console screen. The dealership has made it very clear they don't know anything about the factory installed phone. I don't want them to tear things apart unless thry know what they are doing.

The phone has to be activated(subscription paid)by the owner for it to work,it has possibly lapsed...(you only get 12 months)you will have to call the service provider to reinstall the service....try the original/selling dealer,

    your car came with a handbook regarding the fitted cellphone and the services it offered and once registered with the network,(they allocate a #)would have worked for 12 months(basic service paid for with car)it is not a dealer servicable component,so your "gripe"is with the service provider,certainly not with any of us"experts"on fixya.....thanks for the "feedback".personally i wish makers would NOT fit them,same as satnav.my phone has satnav as standard.......no subs.

Need the radio wiring diagram for a 2008 Ford Taurus X.


I would suggest going to the ford website and seeing if you could order or look up online an owners' manual for that year. Another suggestion is the Chilton's line of "how to" manuals. I do know these manuals are avalible at your local library and online at www.Chiltonsmanuels.com, The last suggestion I have is to google Ford factory installed radio diagrams for the model year 2008. Remember the car was probably produced in 2007 for the year 2008.so that could possibly make a difference. The other thing especially with Ford's factory stereos they tend to run in three year sprints. Meaning that. the diagram for the make and model can be the same as the previous model year or pretty consistent with it. You also could call up your local Ford dealership, and ask for the diagram there or how to go about ordering one. After the alarm has been set for hours, the alarm/horn beeps. No one is near the car when this happens.


After market? A good one last about 5 years. Factory maybe 7 years (even factory installs are after market). Junk ones, 1 to 3 years. Pull it out and repair the wires as you go. Every car I see these in, I pull them out. The car works fine after that.

This could actually be a fault in the quite a few different modules.
It could be the centre console buttons, or even the main module.
Unfortunately you need to get VAG-COM or VCDS to see the error codes.
I used a Ross-Tech cable and determined the issue was a failed module.
Any VW, Audi or Porsche service place can connect in and see what the car is reporting.

But this may be best to let Porsche run diagnostics.
Also if it is a module, dealerships tend to have to replace them.
As second hand modules have a CP protection lock on them.

Timing chain on 2005 Porsche Cayenne


I am not a Cayenne guy but first and formost the timing belt on Porsche's absolutely must be changed every 60k miles or sooner and the water pump every other time, just for good measure. A rough idle after 1 hour driving does not sound like a timing belt issue to me. I would call/attend a local Porsche Club of America (PCA) event and ask around as to who the best mechanic/shop owner is. In the mean time, IF it is the timing belt DON'T DRIVE IT!!!!! if the belt breaks while the engine is running, you may as well buy a new engine! Get very familiar with everything Porsche and your vehicle will last and love you for a very long time. If you don't it will destroy you and your pocket book!

I have a 2008 Mazda CX9 and the cd player just stopped working. It also won't eject any cd...it just say no cd


this is something that may still be under factory warranty.. i work at a dealership and every time this happens we will first remove( disconnect the radio) the reconnect it if that doesnt work then the radio is bad and u need a new unit.. sorry for bad news i know this is no fun..... u can try checking your fuses also

I hate to say, being 2008 and have that many miles, from my experienced working many years at many dealership, your fighting against a brick wall, you can threat them with all kind of law suit, all it will come down to is repaint and that is the best they will do. I hate to say that they going to make you run around in a circle by the time they have exhausted you, you will settle just for a paint job. Those machine from factory, I wish I can say its an excellent job it does but you going to get some defect. In you case if you take it a good paint shop and highly recommended, than you will get allot better paint job than a factory and you shouldn't even have a problems with it and the new paint job will probably outlast other parts compair factory paint on your car. good luck..and I hope that help some

I have in my porsche cayenne S optical fiber from sound system and I can not get it to my new not factory radio.......? How can I instal new not factory radio?????????? Michal


the fibre optical cable needs a bridging loop to remove the old radio from ring and complete the loop otherwise all other items on the optical ring ie cd changer, satnav etc will not work
