Check the fuel pressure. Sounds like a weak pump.

New carb, new gasket, rough idle. No apparent vacuum leaks

Rough idle can be caused by carboned or burnt valves. Start the engine and let it warm up. Take a spray bottle with water, Rev the engine up and spray water into the carb do this 2 or 3 times this will clean the carbon off the valves and pistons. If this helps, but doesn't solve the problem, then It's time for a head job. One other thing to do to check for vacuum leaks is to spray WD40 Around vacuum ports and the intake manifold/gaskets. When spraying and the engine clears up, theres your vacuum leak. Don't use starting fluid as you would be asking for trouble. WD40 is flamable, but not as flamable as starting fluid.

I have a 1997 Ford Crown Victoria. In cool

sounds like the fuel pump is going out. next time it won't start have the fuel pressure tested or spray starting fluid into the air intake to see if it starts.

My car doesnt accelerate properly as it hits 20mph and holds back for 10 to 15 seconds cleaned sensors(idle, mass or maff sensor and sensors around) and changed wire set and spark plugs and fuel filter

run it without the air filter and see if it makes a difference. does it shake? missfire? any DTC's(diagnostic trouble codes), Check engine light on? Does it do the same thing when in park and pressing on the gas gently? Does it bog down? It can be as simple as the air filter. The other thing that comes to mind is the intake manifold gasket. Try spraying some starter fluid around the intake manifold(car on) and see if the car stalls or shakes.(do this step with engine started from cold for your safety)

1994 volkwagen golf, only starts when starter fluid sprayed into air intake. After starts runs fine. after warmed up, still doesn't start without fluid

Is this a diesel? If so it could be fuel filters because that is classic signs of a fuel filter needing changed.

1995 Explorer conversion van won't accelerate

Sounds like you have a transmission problem, could be the valve body, or a bad band. I would check the fluid first it could be low. Just make sure the engine is warm, and the van is in park, then check the fluid.

1997 dodge 3.5 fast idle can not slow it down. at start running about 2.5rpms. i can drive down the street at 35mph without touching the gas pedal.

Sounds like a vaccuum, or gasket leak. Easiest way to diagnose is to get a can of starting fluid and spay it around any vacuum hoses and intake area while it's running. Be careful! Starting fluid is extremely flammable!

If you notice an acceleration, or de-celeration while spraying the starting fluid, you should be able to pinpoint the leak.

Vehicle will start & run then will quit

What engine? When was fuel filter changed last, and have you by any chance has fuel pressure tested, preferably when no start?
Tried spraying WD-40 into intake at front of throttle body, with plate open, and then try to start.? Sounds a lot like fuel pump going but lets be sure.

Sounds like it needs a new fuel pump. Get a Fuel Pressure Gauge and check it make sure it up to the Specs,What I think is about 35 to 40 psi without looking in my book. Also you would want to make sure the fuel filter was changed, Your getting spark and fuel, But You stated your able to start it with starting fluid so I would say it must be a fuel pump problem.. I hope that help you out. If not get back to me and we can try some more trouble shooting. Take Care, Bear
