Subaru noise in driveline

if it's in the center driveline then have the u-joints checked. the drive axles also called cv joints have always been an issue with subaru, probably cause the have all 4 wheels going and each axle has 2 boots that makes 8 boots that are usualy popped when when the vehicle goes off road. also if you abuse your 5-speed manual trans. (like I do) the output-shaft bearing will start to click (like mine).

Steering wheel clicks on 1998 Subaru Legacy Outback wagon

steering column bearing sounds like a worn out steering column... jack the front wheels off the ground both sides relieve load on steering wheel to see if it lessens the amount of feel and noise, if it does it shoud be the column bearing, replace bearings or complete column,,, also try with the wheels off the ground and safely supported to manualy steer the wheels by hand and see if you feel in roughness or hear any noises, should some minor resistance but be smooth in it movement if everything suspension and steering component wise is in good working condition... please rate my help.. thanks...

1997 subaru outback make clicking noise on in reverse. Also, sometimes when the car is turned off, the car lurches a bit

does it click while reversing straight or while turning? Sounds like a stick shift. Lunging probably due to e-brake needing adjustment(if stick shift). If your car only clicks while turning in reverse you need new front axles and can probably drive that way for a while
