Coolant is not the problem ,most likely,it might need freon,it could be low,or the cooling fans are not coming on when the ac is turned on.

Temp gauge and computer says car is hot but water in tank is cool

Does your heater blow out hot air? If you get plenty of heat even at idle (after the engine is warm) then you probably have a temperature sensor issue. If you don't get plenty of heat you either have low coolant or a thermostat issue. Check the level of your coolant when the engine is cold, it should be at the cold fill level that is marked on the resovoir. If it at the correct level, check for flow in the rad if it has a cap. DON'T OPEN IT WHEN THE ENGINE IS HOT!!!! Open if before you start the engine. Watch for the coolant moving through the rad, also (with the cap on and engine hot) both rad hoses, one should be a little cooler than the other. If they are both cool you have restriction in the cooling system. Hopes this helps, I am a former Ford master technician. If you need more help put a new question in Help me, Billy along with an email and I'll contact you with help.

Is there a fuse or relay for the heater in my 2002 ford expedition

No hot air is due to low coolant, or even poor coolant flow. The engine heats up the coolant, and it passed through your heater core, and the heater blower motor pushes air through the heater core to warm up the air. If your "fan"is working, but the air is cold, make sure your coolant level is good.

Check your coolant levels. If the temperature isn't much higher than normal, you may be fine, or you may have a Coolant Temperature Sensor going bad, and reporting the incorrect temperature. Even though the thermostat was replaced 8 months ago, it is possible it is already going bad again. I believe this is more of a Coolant Temp. Sensor fault though. The cooling fans are On when the AC is on. With the AC off, the cooling fans come on when the engine reaches a certain temperature, and cut off once the temperature is back in range. The Coolant Temperature sensor shouldn't cost much, and is easy to replace. I would start with that, top it off with coolant, and then maybe change the thermostat.

Air is getting into the system. Tighten all hoses and do not overlook the hose going to the expansion tank. When car cools that hose sucks water back into system but if not tight it will suck in air. Could be why you constantly have to "burp" the system.

Mercedes benz airconditioning

You might check the cooling fans on the condenser to see if they are running when the ac is on.If they are not check for blown fuse,or bad cooling fan relay.Do you notice if the ac cools better when running constantly, and the ac is not so cool when in traffic, stopping and going, and running slow?If so the cooling fan,or fans are not working. If the fan fuse and the relays check out fine, then replace the fan,or fans.If I can help any more please ask.roniecon@gmail.com

Cooling fans stay on

your fan will also come on when the defroster is on and when the airconditioning is on so it could be something to do with the inside temp controls
