If it is yellow, it is not immediate disaster, but if it is red, do not drive until you figure it out.If this light is yellow, I would suspect that you have some kind of emissions type of problem….like a faulty oxygen sensor or something like that. If this light is red you need to have the car looked at IMMEDIATELY.. Get car scanned at diagnosis center to get error codes, at diagnosis center you will receive the error code. As per the error code it will detect the exact faulty part in the car due to which the problem is occurring. For more help: --- at www.autozone.com it’s absolutely free to get car scanned.
Thanks. keep updated for any more query.you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Hello,

Thanks for using FixYa.

I suggest that you bring your car back to the dealership. They might not have reset your Bimmer's OBD system.

Engine warning light stays on

Check your gas cap. Whenyou put in gas the motor is suppose to be off. If there's not a good seal on gas cap that will cause the check engine light to come on. The mechanic should have a code reader for you and tell you what the light means.

How do i turn off the 'epc' warning light on a AUDI ?

You will need a scan tool, or just drive the car and if it was due to battery once the computer finishes running its diagnose checks it will turn light off, this may take a week and some driving around. you could also have the computer scanned to see what code is stored and see if its due to the battery.

Battery not charging warning light showing

mcdevito75 here, The replaced alternator should have a warrantee, bring it back to the shop that replaced it. If you did the work yourself and even if it's a rebuilt, you should still be able to exchange it. Some manufactureres recommend a new alternator and not rebuilt, plus if you"ve added any moe electrical items you"ll need a stromger alternator (higher amp).

sounds like they may have knocked the brake pad wear sensor this could have tripped the code, suggest you return to the shop wear services were performed and have them examine that sensor

Battery or radiator light on a 1999 BMW 318i SE

The below is taken from another site written a year ago:
What you are looking at is the Service Indicator. The green, yellow and red lights let you know when service needs to be performed. The green lights mean everything is still good. The yellow lights mean "anytime you're ready." The red lights mean do the service ASAP. There are also two other lighted areas. One says "inspection," the other says "oil change" (or oil service.) An oil change is an oil change. However, there are two inspections: Inspection 1 is normally at every other 15,000 miles; Inspections 2 is at every 30,000 miles. Your local BMW dealer should have a pamphlet listing all duties performed for each of the services. Inspection 2 can run you around $400-$800 depending on the service station/dealership's labor rates. Inspections 1 should be around 1/2 of that. You should have your oil changed about every 5000 miles. Dealership oil changes can range from $35-$65. A BMW that is well taken care of will last a long time.

FYI, don't be surprised if the SI (service indicator) board decides to **** out one day. I'm surprised to see yours is still working (they usually die within 10 years unless someone went thru the expense to have it replaced.) If/when it does go, just gauge your services by the mileage intervals I've listed above. I'd also recommend when you stop into (or just call) the dealership, go to the parts department and order an owner's manual for your BMW. Should be less than $20 and get to you in about a week unless they have one in stock.
When the service tech has performed the necessary service(s), he will reset your SI board so that only green lights are showing.
