Stereo and parking sensors don't work it sometimes comes on but goes straight off . It also says low battery sometimes but won't stay on and work. What is wrong how do I fix it?

Rachael, if this stereo was professionally installed, take it back to them and ask them to check it out. If it is something they did, they will have to replace or repair it.

If this is a home install, as in you or a friend or both of you installed it in your garage at home, you will want to (1) pull the stereo and check all of the connections to see if any of them are only partially connected or making contact intermittently; andm (2) repair and faulty/incomplete connections and/or replace any burnt out fuses. Also, while you have the stereo unit out, you'll want to locate the flat, round battery in the stereo unit and replace it to see if that willl solve the issue,

From the way you describe what the unit is doing, I would venture to guess that you have loose connection that is only making intermmittent contact, causing the intermittent working of the stereo. Either that, or all problems will be resolved with the changing of the battery.

Intermittent problem starting 2002 volvo s60.

the symtoms you describe sounds like a battery fault. but if you have had the battery properley tested and is good then you either have something discharging the battery intermittantly ie. trunk light staying on or a high resistance in the main battery leads or earth connections

2005 Honda Pilot: engine light suddenly stays on and radio turns off intermittently and then comes back on by itself. Any ideas?

Loose connection to battery caused radio to turn off when the brakes were applied! Overheating was a simple matter of low coolant... thought the two problems were related at first because they both started happening at the same time!

1996 Toyota T100 air bag lite will not turn off. Normal it comes on during start up, then turns offf. Now it comes on and stays on for weeks, then turns off for a day or two, then back on.

You need to take the vehicle to a dealer, when the light is ON, and get it scanned. The results of the scan willl lead you in the direction of the repair that is needed. In your case, with the info that you have provided, I would think, with the intermittantness of the issue, is you may have a spiral cable (or, a 'clockspring') in the steering column going bad.

Radio keeps shutting off and on by itself

Chrysler issued a Service Bulletin on this issue:

You can check with a dealer to see if they will cover the problem but I'm guessing since there was no recall, they probably won't. If not, you can try this:

Reset the radio by disconnecting the negative battery cable for 10 mins or so. After you reconnect, the radio should reset and resolve your issue.

I hope this fixes your problem. Best of luck!

2004 BMW X5 4.4i Left lights on resulting in flat battery. Car was jump started from another vehicle (Ford Transit van). Everything fine for a few days. Now, intermittently the radio/sat nav goes haywire!...

sounds like your car has the multi function steering wheel, i know on the 7 and 5 series they come out of sync, im not sure why.
its about £75 to get plugged in at the dealers and they reprogram it, sometimes i have had the odd car with a damaged slip ring, it does all sorts of things, 1 in particular kept on beeping the horn,
i would say if u got 1 urs got upset when battery flat.
