The change oil indication came up on my 2010 chrysler van. After the oil change, how do I reset it?

Im not 100% sure but turn the key to the on posistion push and hold the trip reset knob if this does not work try pumping the gas pedal 3-4 times if not you can call your dealers service dept and they can tell you how over the phone also if you have your owners manual it will tell you how in it.

  3. Press the select/reset knob for about 10 seconds. The engine oil life and the maintenance item code(s) will blink.
  4. Press the select/reset knob for another 5 seconds. The maintenance item code(s) will disappear, and the engine oil life will reset to 100.

I acnnot find how to reset the oil change required indicator light on my 2008 Mercury Sable


The following procedure will reset your oil change light. Thank you for using Fixya!

2008-2010 Sable
  1. Turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).
  2. Press and release SETUP to display "OIL LIFE XXX% HOLD RESET = NEW".
  3. Press and hold RESET for 2 seconds and release to reset the oil life to 100%.
  4. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

We where driving the van when the chime came on and the oil light came on .checked oil and there is oil in van


Check the oil pressure sensor, its located directly above the oil filter. The sensor usually has a bright green connector. Oil pressure sensor failure is pretty common with Chrysler products. Thay are very easy to change with a deep 27MM socket. Look to see if the sensor is leaking oil as this is usually a tell-tale sign that the sensor has failed
