Take it to an auto parts store that checks you check engine code for free.get the cone and trouble shooting print out .take apen and paper incase they cant print it out this code and what it represents is going to help you find your problem .once the light comes on it will stay in you memory till the battery is disconected or until a code reader clears it . so you have some vital info stored in your memory

2001 kia sportage will brake lit switch cau the truck stall whil driving

Yes, If your idle RPM is too low it can kill the engine due to the high current of the brake lights will cause a stall.

Most cars use an RPM idle of 750 to 775 RPM. Check your manual then increase your idle a little.
Hope this helps.

Lacks power

sounds like wrong firing order of the cylinders. If you have the 4 cylinder engine the firing order is 1-3-4-2. Number 1 is the end of the engine the belts are on

Engine overheated because of radiator hose clamp loose (5 Minutes) Loss of engine power after +- 2 weeks Suspect head gasket or damaged vacuum signal rubber piping near engine block Kia Sportage 2000

5 minutes is a long time to drive a car with no coolant. Does the engine run rough, or miss? Or is it just sluggish and low on power? If it got hot enough, there could be permanent damage to the engine. Overheating can cook the engine oil into a gummy sludge and loses it;s lubricating properties.Check for signs of coolant in the oil. That would indicate a head gasket failure or a cracked head.

Bad misfire at idle

Hi, you need to go and have the check engine light looked at. without look at the engine light i would guess that the egr valve is either plugged or bad. the engine light should give you a good idea of the problem.

2005 Kia Sportage kills when release of gas pedal

Sounds like a faulty engine warning light and a problem with one of your vacuum hoses. This is difficult to find. Probable just an old cracked hose or loose connection. Propose this to your dealer. Just keep taking it back and tell them to check all of the vacuum hoses and the computer. Good Luck
