If it has set up for too long I would try filling up with premium fuel. I am not sure if that has points but if it does under the distributor cap the points can become corroded and make the motor spit and sputter. Otherwise from the camry's I have seen that have sat always ended up having fuel problems. Hope this helps!

Why does my car try to die when i drive down the road?

Try to check the ignition coil, when you driving it become hot then the car dies end won't start. After awhile when it's cold, then it will start. Replace the ignition coil.
I hope it solves the problem

Our 2001 camry lost power going down the road and died. We looked under the hood and the pulley that comes off the engine that runs the alternator belthad came apart. If the pulley came apart and that belt...

I'm not sure about the belt set up, it should be on a sticker under the hood. But losing your alt can cause the car to die due to loss of electrical power to run the computer, fuel pump, coils, ext. on some cars you can run for awhile on the battery, but eventually it'll die. Some cars are set up to die if the alt fails so that the rest of the cars systems can still be used

Dies after starting..

Possibly bad throttle position sensor or other sensor, but most likely throttle positon senosr may need to be cleaned. If you have a vacuum operated actuator on the tranny, you should use a vacuum tester and make sure it is not leaking. Have you changed tranny filter? Did you get a flush done?

95 Camry was running great. Driving down street car bucked once and died. Cranks but will not start.

check your timing belt; it is probably broken; then: re-time the camshaft pulley with the crankshaft pulley (line up the marks on the new belt) and, install a new one

Died driving down the road, no problem turning over, but won't start

It souds like the same problem i had a few months ago, have your timing belt checked, i am most certainly sure that it is the belt, usualy the belt breaks, or slips off the pulley.......hope this is helpful.
