The stop light switch is located on the top of the brake pedal, it is a small plunger switch attached on a bracket that only moves in and out about 1/2 inch. To replace you have to lay on your back on the drivers floor mat and reach up behind the dash. Just follow the brake pedal and your sure to see it. Hope that helps!

Why 1992 Buick Regal instrument panel lights will not turn off

My thought, replacing the headlight switch may fix your problem? Then, I looked up the cost, tax and all 3 or 4 hundred bucks, whew, that is pricey. Maybe you can find one in a salvage yard that will work? With an interior dimmer, did you try turning it all the way down?
Also, there shows to be a panel fuse 5amp in your fuse box, pull the fuse, see if light goes out? At the least it won't run the battery down, then plug the fuse back in when needed.
I did think about using an on/off switch mounted somewhere convenient to control that lamp, that isn't the proper fix.

What controls dash lights to turn off when door close after 3 mins on 1992 Buick Regal

That is controlled by what is called the "Delayed Exit Module" It should turn off the lights when any door is opened, if not then you may have a defective door ajar switch, if opening any of the 4 doors doesn't turn off the system then the module is likely defective.

I have a 1992 Buick La Sabre Custom. My brake lights are not working but taillights, turn signals and hazard lights do work. Switch ok. fuse ok. ????????

if your fuse is good. and you have power at the brake light switch and when you hit the brakes you have power coming out the otherside of brake light switch/which would be the white wire/ check that the white wire is sending power up the turn signal switch. if theres power there and your turnsignals work? im afraid that your turnsignal switch is bad rare but it has been known to happen.

Need to replace stoplight switch on a 1992 buick regal

You need to crawl under the dash and look up at the top of the brake pedal arm. you will see a switch with a plunger and 2 wires that is attached to the brake frame so the plunger moves when the brake pedal is pressed. That is the brake switch.

The dome lights and floor lights stay on in my 1993 Buick Regal Custom. I have made sure that all doors are shut tight and still they stay on!!

This sounds like one of your door jamb switches have stopped working.

This could also be the dimmer switch on the dash. If it has failed, it could keep the lights on.

Also make sure you don't have the dimmer switch turned all the way up to where it keeps the lights on all the time.

Turn Signal

The turn signal switch most likely needs to be replaced, and yes the steering wheel does have to be removed to make this repair.
