The check engine light is most likely an emissions problem. I would get it scanned at a local auto zone or advance auto parts store. The squeaking is probably either a belt or pully. The serpentine belt tension er is a common problem on the 5.2's. This would cause your squeaking. Hope this helps!

I think its time you got a greener vehicle ,check engine light could be anything from a split rubber hose on a vacumn pipe to a oxygen sensor ,also the noise underneath would need a mechanic to jack it up and have a look ,why not buy a nice peugeot partner or ford courier diesel manual for work

is the engine misfiring
or the compressor just shaking
this is obvious if you just look.
if not, get it serviced, we can go beyond that.
we use a stethoscope to listen to both , and hear what is making noise. or just look.

Noise from serpentine belt pulleys 2007 jeep grand cherokee 3.0lt diesel engine

if it is a squeak it is the belt if it is a growl it could be a pulley going bad you can better determine if it is a belt or pulley buy taking the belt off and spining the pulleys by hand to see if one has any play or noise if not relpace belt

Motorway whine in my 1997 Jeep grand

The noise you are hearing may be caused by a loose or worn serpentine belt and is slipping during all engine speeds while under load. It could also be a worn serpentine idler pulley that has worn out. These are just two areas for you to consider, but it is hard for me to tell without actually hearing the noise. Take the vehicle to an autoparts store and have someone check these engine components for a possible cause. They won't charge you anything.

I have a problem with my grand cherokee laredo v8 1998 the problem is when its on idle it idle perfect buth sudenley the pump star making a noise and the noise goose high the fuel preshure drops and the...

ok, 2 things are happening, the most obvious is that you are low on fuel the pump spins faster, becauase there is no fuel to pressurise the lines

secondly, and more likely the fuel pump is failing, it is called cavitation. the pump pressurises the lines and there is enough fuel to keep the engine alive at idle, or at 5,000 revs. however, if the pump is failing it is only pumping enough to keep it at idle, and not enough to keep up with the demand of higher engine speeds.

soon enough, the pump will fail altogether, and and the engine will not start

My 1997 Jeep grand cherokee is running real rough when I accelerate. Now while driving it it keeps stopping but will start right back up? help???

check the cables of the spark plugs, some times it occurs that the cables get loose from its plastic retainers and touch any metal in the engine, causing missfire of the related spark plug, hence rough running of the engine. Put all cables on the retainers making sure none touches the bare metal of the engine. That should help.

My 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee makes a squeaking noise when taking off and going over speed humps, the problem seems to be much more apparent on hot days?

It is your serpentine belt that drives your A/C compressor and other front engine components. Check the tension of the belt or have it checked, then inspect for wear.Replace belt if needed.
