If you take the car to an autozone they can scan for the trouble codes free of charge. If you can report back with that trouble code it can give us an idea of what the problem may be Being that this is a Mercedes it is a very complex machine to say the least. I look forward to assisting you further.
Thank you,
Lee

You should keep your expectations realistic. With that little information to go on it could be anything. Car repair takes quite a bit of diagnosis to solve a problem. That is what makes a good mechanic. Old saying goes. "You get what you put in". In the future I hope you'll have realistic expectations.
    Thank you and good luck,
    Lee

You will need to get an Error code reading device there pretty cheap to buy and you can read the engine error codes which will tell you what the problem is caused by or where the problem is occurring.
Also you can clear the error codes once you find and fix problem so the check engine light will turn back off.

2.5l engine, 5-speed A/T. How many miles can I go after gas light turns on?

It depends on what speed you're driving, if the terrain is hilly or flat, what the ambient temperature is. I haven't seen my low fuel light in ages. Keep in mind it isn't a good idea to run your fuel level so low. The fuel pump is cooled by the fuel (its inside the tank). Running the fuel level very low allows the pump to run above the fuel and not stay cool. I strongly suggest keeping the upper 3/4 tank full as I do. It certainly doesn't save anybody money to run a tank of fuel completely out before refueling. You may fill up more often over a given period of time but you're buying less fuel each time.

Low fuel light comes on and stays on but tank is full.

run the fault codes to check for a sensor problem. the ford service manager sold you a product that you didn't need as that was not the problem. He should have suggest the fault code reading.

Gas gauge indicator goes to empty when full

sounds like you may have a bad fuel level sender problem. as for the check engine light coming on and storing a fault code that is a separate issue.

Just filled the gas tank in my 2006 f-350 turbo diesel super duty (6.0), started the truck and the guage showed a full tank. Drove down the road about 1/10 of a mile and the guage dropped to dead empty...

A loose connection on the sending unit could cause the problem but also moisture in the tank in cold weather could also be a factor in which i would add fuel line antifreeze to a full tank of fuel..........Hope this helps you out.

My 2000 Neon goes fine for a while then cuts out, misses, and sometimes dies at high or low speeds. I'm going broke having mechanics try out "fixes".

Any trouble codes from it,check engine light? Have the fuel pressure checked. It may read good when first started but after fuel pump heats up from running for a while, fuel pressure may start to drop too low for proper operation. Does it seem to take longer to cut out or act up when fuel in tank is closer to full, then empty?

Got up this morning and started my 2004 olds bravada to see the ''reduced engine power'' light on and the ''service engine soon'' light on! Had just got a full tank of gas from Safeway, so thinking it was...

Is the check engine light on also? Your bravada is in limp mode (it is restricted to 2k rpm to protect the engine from damage, due to a problem), something is going on, so go back to auto zone and have them check for any codes (free service). They can tell you what the codes mean and suggest what you should do. If you have questions, post them here with the code #'s.

Warning light

Usually, the "half full" engine light is when the engine is in reduced power mode. The number one casue of this is a failure of the high pressure fuel pump. This engines fuel system is direct injection and operates at 50 bar (or 725psi). When it fails you only get 5 bar out of the electric low pressure fuel pump. Another symptom that goes along with issue is a longer than normal crank time in the moring. this issuse is not a huge problem the have repaired at the dealer and is covered under the facory warranty
