Usually the switch that controls reverse is somewhere related to the shifter cable.

Back-Up Light Switch REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

  1. Position the shift lever in neutral.
  2. Raise the truck and support it on safety stands.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector at the switch.
  4. Unscrew the back-up light switch from the extension housing.
  5. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure Tighten the switch to 60 inch lbs.

To install:
  1. Screw the new switch into the housing and tighten it to 60 inch lbs.
  2. Connect the wire and lower the truck.

Hi David, first check your fuses some have seperate fuses for running lights and headlights, next make sure bulb connections are clean and connecting also check all parking and break lights if 1 is out in rear sometimes they wont work also is your switch on dash or steering colum, either way your coulkd have a faulty switch, HOPe this helps

1988 pathfinder no dash lights no revers lights no tail lights no gaiges

If they all stopped working at the same time then it is probably a fuse or possibly 2. Check your fuse panels in the dash and under the hood. The dash lights and gauges should be a fuse labeled instrument cluster or guages, it is probably blown. The other fuse to look for will be the tail light fuse. This is where I would begin.

Hi there i have a problem with my 1996 nissan primera automatic my reverse lights are not going the bulbs arent blown checked all fuses in car and under bonnet none are blown is there a switch or fuse...

in every transmission there is a reverse light switch, located on the tranny itself. it looks like an oil pressure switch, sorta threaded plug with a wide outside end with terminals for the wires. you may havta replace that.

On the side of your transmission will be a switch with several wires coming out of it. This is your reverse switch that turns on your reverse lights and most likely needs to be replaced

My break lights arent working! and we changed the fuse already.

There could be several reasons why your break lights wont work. Blown bulbs, bad wiring or the brake light switch has gone bad.
